Probably, given who they are, but honestly the premise isn’t bonkers on its own. There’s been a massive wait between Elder Scrolls V and VI, with absolutely no signal how much longer VI may even be. Part of “speed up development” may even just mean adopting a strategy to keep development moving even when working on another project, like Starfield.
Exactly, they can outsource the games to different studios like call of duty and pump out an elder scrolls every year
Last main series ES game came out 15 years ago, they really should let it die with what dignity it still has, same with Fallout.
Microsoft should have left all their franchises behind and hired creative talent to make new IPs, instead they put any developers they could get on crunch time to spew out shitty sequels. Now that strategy has come to bite them in the ass, as they don’t have appeal any more.
Which is a shame, because TES’ lore is incredible.
