A stylish mix of classic and modern, but I think it has practicality issues like where to place the modern machines foot pedal?
Hot swap cantalivere bobbin tray, titanium alloy thread guides, and a custom built fully geared mechanical foot pedal.
I’d love to watch that thing eat a belt lol, it’s a beast.
Needs more fans
Runs on Linux Arch.
She uses Arch btw
To look at? Coolest shit in the block
To use? I struggle sewing with full midday sunlight, I can’t imagine being able to see shit with a strongly colored backlight…
She can sew RGB lighting into your ugly Christmas sweater now.
But that’s a modern sewing machine sitting on an ancient sewing machine (assuming its anything like the Singer table pop-up thing my Nana had when she was around).
That footpedal is the drive for the needle
Offline backup.
Oh, maybe it’s cables and a rubber mat? …It looks like the wrought iron(ish?) foot pedal, at least.
Thanks for the nostalgia! I needed to think of Nana again
10/10 setup
0/10 lighting
Can’t quilt for shit in that light.
Right, you’d see it in the morning and the colors would all be way off
“I thought this was black thread, turns out it was red!”
I thought it was white and gold but people say it’s black and blue.
It was actually laurel
I thought it was live at the acropolis.
Actually it was pale mauve
Is the blue light to discourage her from IV drug use?
Thanks to AI needing so many threads, I’m sure parts are getting hard to find
the things are single threaded so the hardware is still pretty cheap. Now a surger on the otherhand, prices are SKYROCKETING!
Actually these have two threads
Too late bro. Kneeting machines where invented in 18th century
Kneet!
9.5/10. I don’t see a knee speed controller.
Lookin’ good!
No joke though, I currently have my sewing machine sitting in front of the secondary PC in our family room. I have found sewing to be up there with other non-tech hobbies like building things with wood, digging in the dirt, and taking care if my animals as far as brain health and sensory satisfaction.
I’m a middle aged cishet dad of a boy, too. I just bought the thing last year for some fun crafty projects we had in mind.
I’ve always been into techy hobbies and some of the crafty stuff goes right along. I have a Silhouette machine, a laser cutter, and a couple 3D printers.
Been eyeballing embroidery machines lately, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Shit, mine doesn’t have a treadle…

Grandma is cooler than me 😔
