Trials of mana. It runs nicely but sucks the battery down, only get a little over an hour.

I’ve also just been playing Luanti (voxelibre, Asuna, mineclonia) a bit because my daughter is learning to play it on her computer and wants me to lan play with her but I have no idea what these games are about.

Parking Garage Rally Racer. Fun little racing game with retro 3d graphics.

Also resumed playing Cat Quest. Simple Lite-RPG where you can leave it for a year and come back to.

Which one of the three Cat Quest game would you recommend for kids? Part 2 seems like a good co-op based on the description.

Cat Quest 2 or 3 if co-op is a requirement.

I hear 2 is a longer game but 3 has better QoL features.

I’ve been playing Final Fantasy XIV while my wife and I are watching TV in the evening. I’m still adjusting to the gamepad controls, but it runs great and it’s relaxing to grind out leveling content.

Back to Valheim again for a bit. A local gaming group fired up a new server, so I am back into building massive bases into the side of mountains.

I stay away from early access, so now that this is imminent-I decided to give Valheim a try. It’s super fun and I’m not sure why. It’s grindy af, and I don’t think there’s any new and novel mechanics - but I’m hooked.

Maybe the difficulty and the fact I’m just playing blind? Man, sailing for the first time was cool. Then I decided to land in the swamp, at night, for the first time ever - ya, that didn’t end well…. Kinda had to start over, couldn’t even get to my corpse lol. Brutal but fun…

I’ve got 1500+ hours in it overall, though I suspect I left it on the menu screen and fell asleep a few times to reach that number.

It still scratches the rpg/builder/cooperative itch for me, even though I mostly just solo build stuff now.

The challenge of trying to build big and taller with the weight/support mechanic seems to pull me back.

Then sailing does too. I’ve been revisiting the ashlands a bit as well, trying to get my block/dodge timing back up to par before 1.0 hits later this year.

I’ve been trying to play Boyfriends Dungeon and Star Wars Podracer, but I fucked up my thumb last week and can’t use the left joystick without significant pain. It’s not broken, just fucked it up bad.

So I downloaded The Shapeshifting Detective and a few other FMV games since I can play those 100% right handed

I’m hooked on the Gothic Remake. It runs like garbage. I can barely get 30 fps. Sometimes. But I’m still having a great time. I’m on my third run.

Next up is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Hope that runs better. KCD 1 ran great.

Going through Control again since the sequel comes out in a few months. I’m usually streaming to my deck from my PC though.

So much better than I expected. Reviews back around release made it sound so rough.

Summoning does seem to make the game very easy. I went from getting wrecked every time I encountered stuff to being able to handle enemies that one shot me simply by having fodder. I consider this to be a boon for the game because there should be many playable options and not all should be equally difficult.

Feels like skyrim but with actually good combat. The amount of random stuff everywhere to uncover is crazy.

I’ve been playing Granblue Fantasy Relink, and I’ve been really enjoying it. Big DLC for it releases this month, so I’m trying to get caught up to play with friends once the DLC comes out.

Great game, really fun on deck. There are some minor fps drops during character discussions in the town, but performance has been really good during gameplay. Combat system is really fun. There’s a big end game loop that’s similar to monster hunter, where you do boss fights to farm upgrades and materials.

    • 9 Kings has been great on the deck until you have an army consisting of tens of thousands of soldiers. Then it just gets bogged down.
    • Witch Knight: I have been working to finish this game. I do not think bullet hell’s are my thing since I’m not great at the game, but it is enjoyable enough that I want to finish it.

As a side note, is there any built in save syncing for Dark Souls II: SotFS? I started my save on my HTPC but would like to be able to play on either system.

Decky has multiple save sync plugins that will allow automatic save syncing between different devices. Many of them are just plugin versions of standard file syncing software, that will have a matching PC client.

You have to have both your PC and your deck awake at the same time for most of them to sync though, unless you add a middle point like Google drive that’s always available for sync.

I think two of the options were syncthing and ludensave, but there may be more options or I may be remembering those wrong.

I use syncthing for other stuff, but I consider my SteamDeck and HTPC as untrusted devices. I will give ludensavi a look.

Yeah I suck at it a lot. I have a friend who plays a lot, so I thought I could learn by playing with him. But he insists we need to play on harder difficulties so I don’t pick up bad habits, and it makes it nearly impossible for me to progress at all when I play with him.
