Usually I adjust the volume for each song when I’m driving. Some are just louder than others, but that’s kind of ok I think. I really dislike Spotify (and other platforms) automatic loudness dynamic adjustment things… they usually make things sound really bad and weird
Yea compression can really squash a mix. YouTube also did a stunt with that default on, made lots of music youtube channels sound horrible. Turned that shit of right away.
I was wondering why music sounded so shit suddenly on my living room TV. Turns out there was three layers of compression / “reduce loud sounds” going on. YouTube had it on so I turned it off there. Then my Apple TV set top box I had to turn it off. Then my TV itself also had that setting. It was so annoying. Luckily I just had to change it once a few months ago, haven’t had any repeat behaviour.
@Zarobi gross. Thats why i dont trust any device with DSP to sound good until I go through every menu to shut that trash off. The worst part about this is it trains young people to LIKE awful sound. The future for sound is bleak Its really not a good thing. I’ll stick with my analog class a amps, thanks!
