Just an American perspective… Who is this helping? What is best? Why? Do we choose the DTS where it’s dark in the early morning? Or choose one where there’s more light in the afternoon?
I’m going to call dark mornings beneficial for companies and light in the afternoon beneficial for workers.
Or will they choose light in the morning and eternal darkness in the afternoon noon?
Somewhere in there you have issues with cars going east to west in the mornings or afternoons getting blinded and running over kids and others and things including other cars. 5pm when the sun light is in your eyes going uphill and you forgot to wash your windshield is a terrible thing. But it happens every day at different times of the day.
Finally there’s me and work from home. Me time. There’s no point in going to work to socialize for someone else’s profit. I must rather not car what time it is and just stay home and try to accomplish something to get payed. A midnight massage is just as effective as a mid day massage. Either way you can illuminate your massage table and you wouldn’t car what time it was. You just need to know how long you paid for that massage or how long you got paid to give it. I could be flexible and have my own hours for giving massages…say from 9am to 6pm. But I could also get paid a little more if I get someone in at midnight because their job ends at 11pm.
This whole 8am to 5pm is just business bullshit from before the computer and technology revolution. We should do away with it. Also Monday, Tuesday… Saturday and Sunday and then do it all again 52 times with a little party in between is just dumb. Keep track of that if you care for plants or want to know how old you are. I just don’t think counting time is important for me as much as it is important for some other asshole who wants to extract an amount of work from me and pay me less than what it’s worth. That’s really what time is all about… making billionaires.

Dark in the early morning and light in the afternoon are the same thing right? That’s what we’re getting.
The difference between sunrise at 830 and 930 seems minor. You’re still waking up and going to work in the dark.
But the difference between sunset at 430 vs 530pm is huge. You could get a whole hour of light after work you’d be missing before.
