    Agreed, I think I sorta group those types of jobs as admin in my head which is inaccurate. Like working in a health department seems administrative, but clearly there’s field work there.

    Public service can be hard to break into as well. It often takes months to years to land a local government job.

      Definitely can be, though I walked into a rural health department who had paper applications. They didn’t use online applications as a screening method. Got the job that month. They were also a weird teamsters union department, and probably wouldn’t have hired me if I weren’t white. So the mileage definitely varies.

      (And yeah I processed paperwork 80% of my time there.)
