I wonder how much information could be gathered from a lemonade stand, and how much the name-address-Bluetooth mac address would be worth?
Y’know, it’s funny, I’m planning a yard sale soon. I’m only putting up signs nearby so I mostly get my neighbors, and I’m not really planning on charging much for anything because I’m mostly using it to get to know my neighbors and build community, because getting to know my neighbors is more valuable to me than making more money. It’s funny how the right is almost a dark mirror of the left.
Damn, you sound like a socialist! Let me buy you a drink!
Socialist
Buy you (not us) a drink
🤔
I swear when the little girl with the lemonade stand asks me to install an app it’ll be the final straw
The Final Straw is an all-in-one vertically integrated community beverage provisioner mobile app!
I like your pitch, I’ll give you $1.50 for 30%, but the name has to be “stror” to hit the “likes apps ending in r” demographic.
Thanks I fucking hate it
Would you be upset if a duck waddles to your stand and asks you for some grapes?
He’s probably the data broker
related, if a little girl with a lemonade stand had tappay or a cashapp, I would be pretty impressed.
We mostly romanticize traditional child business stuff (girl scout cookies, lemonade stands, mowing yards, etc). Learning how to sell your work, to know the value of your labor is important. But almost no one pays with cash. If a kid was serious about trying to make money the way we imagine kids could make money they need to be with the times, not with the whimsy.
There is room for a little whimsy, as a treat.
Honestly, its probably pretty common. People ask about it at garage sales all the time.
Well there typically isn’t any straws at a lemonade stand, so…
That’s basically the entire US economy in a nutshell.
Nah it lacks the lemon company investing billions into the lemon stand, just so they can buy billions worth of lemons. And the lemon stand needs to set almost all of the lemons on fire and sell just a fraction of them at an extreme loss. Meanwhile the CEOs of both the lemon stand and the lemon company should shout at everyone and anyone: “LEMONADE IS THE FUTURE BRO, JUST ACCEPT IT!”
You’re missing the most important ingredient in the lemonade.
Loans against everyone’s 401k through shady shell companies/dummy investments. It fits in right here:
the lemon company
investingvvvvv billions into the lemon stand, just so they can buy billions worth of lemon futures to inflate their already inflated operating costs. Etc
She could offer them a FREE trial lemonade that only requires them to sign up and submit their credit card information for a membership for a monthly lemonade, delivery not included. Cancel anytime.
Lemonade Battlepass!
HERETIC. I go to the church of Lemonade Beastwars!
More likely it will never be profitable because her great grandparents didn’t enter the lemonade and beverages market seriously enough. So Coke Cola Europe rules the industry.
…actually looking into it, Pepsi owns 10% of the market, and Coke owns 5%… There’s still some room for her if she has the right angle. She should probably try to disrupt the market somehow. Maybe make soda as a drug delivery system? She can piggy back on media hype like “Could this soda cure your diabetes?” Or perhaps custom targetted ads printed on cans? Maybe made-to-order taste sensation?
Tell her to get a degree in marketing and raise a billion dollars in VC money, she might have a chance still.
