“The British class system is not about money. It is a caste system. You can have all the money in the world, but if you don’t have the accent, the school, and the pedigree, you remain an Untouchable to the ruling class.” Antony Jay & Jonathan Lynn: Yes Minister
idk, I always crack up when I hear a tiny Brit speak
which one are you:

Weird, I learned rhotic was pretty much standard dialect around the time North America was colonized … wouldn’t that mean it’s the other way around in reality? (Honest no rage-bait question). I was taught and repeatedly read over the years that modern British dialect sounded more American then, and only changed with more inter-colonization from surrounding countries?
We still have some rhotic accents. They don’t sound American though - just rhotic - like how Frasier’s non-rhotic accent doesn’t sound English.
Picking “Inglis an Scots 🏴”
Should also add 🇦🇺 English (Poisonous)
I believe that’d be English (Venomous), unless there’s something I don’t know about the edibility of Aussies.
I ain’t gonna risk licking them
This or one of the 56 flavours of English (Colonial) but perhaps American also counts as that
Im head empty no thoughts, so simple is accurate for me

No
If you think there’s a “British accent” you’re not qualified to be in this conversation.
Irish is a broad range from enchantingly cute to ancient utterings possibly summoning an eldritch god
There are many British accents, you will have to be more specific. Personally, I find the Yorkshire one rather charming. However, that is the opinion of someone from the DEEP Ottawa Valley.
Do Americans take vocal fry lessons?
why do you think they consume so much oil?
You ever hear a posh British man from the early-mid 1900’s talk? The US valley-girl vocal fry has nothing on CS Lewis.
Finnish is probably the most deep-fried language, though.

So true. Definitely the most annoying thing about that accent (even more than the HAPPY vowel).
For real? Well now I gotta go find some clips!
This is a good video on it. Around 12:30 specifically goes over the old British man version.
It is mass media that has made people talk similar. It used to be every county, in the UK and US, would have a distinct accent.
Since mass media, only the regions that want to keep their accents have them.
That’s what cigarettes are for.
Is it? I thought cigarettes are for killing the weak minded. I say that as someone that smoked and quit. Smoking tobacco kills. Marijuana on the other hand is a gift from the gods.
No, American is the default accent for anyone not forced to learn “Bri’ish.”
Half my kids say ZEHbra and half say ZEEbra.
Have you been running some sort of A/B test?
The two that are in school (1zee 1zeh) are both delinquents. Not sure it makes a difference.
He’ll save children, but not the British children.
