Eww… Maybe they come with free nits (headlice)? 🤔
In one case it was selected by default (“used - very good condition” for a whopping $1 discount!), so be careful to anyone reading this.

I find it so odd that some people only buy from Amazon. There are shit tons of other online retailers around and nowadays Amazon is usually more expensive.
I lived in a remote mountain town and could either travel 1,5 hours in either direction to see if a store happened to carry what I need for a reasonable price (not usually the case) or find it on amazon for a lot cheaper and delivered the next day.
I’m glad I got away from that but it’s really easy to slide into amazon addiction.
Or call them?
Everything I want in one place, with a decent searchable ui and next day delivery? Sometimes I try to get away from that, but that’s a whole lot of convenience you’d have to avoid
Over the weekend I went to the home center for a part, even asked for help finding it, and the guy looked it up and said they no longer carry it. I used the Amazon app in the parking lot for literal seconds , and the part arrived the next day.
I hate it. I try to buy local, I really do. But everybody is like “we don’t have that, but we can order it for you!”
Goddamit, I can order things myself.
So do.
Well, some Tanchjim earphones (as an example) are only available there. But I don’t even have an amazon account and want to keep it that way.
In general less consuming helps. Even try cutting what 30% of the crap consumed. It helps.
They built up a reputation for good service in the 2010’s which isn’t really deserved anymore, but vast numbers of people still think of them as ol’ reliable.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Amazon itself. When I’ve had bad service, it’s inevitably a flipper selling something they don’t have expecting they can then buy it at a local sale. But when that sale has ended or they can’t find one to generate enough profit, they claim “shipping delayed”. Eventually Amazon cancels and I’ve always gotten my money back, but I feel scammed and no one seems to read bad reviews anymore
What retailer do you recommend?
I haven’t given Amazon money in a decade or more.

I’m seeing a lot of “but I can get it the next day” in this thread. If my options are to wait a week for a product or to put money in the pocket of a billionaire who is actively contributing to the destruction of the free press, democracy, and the QoL of the working class, like… I’ll find something to do for a week?
