My kid called me up excited after going fishing with her friend, telling me she’d caught s “huge fish” and was bringing it home. She comes home with a cod barely half the legal size limit, absolutely riddled with cod-worms that were living in giant growths coming out of it’s gills.
Catching nothing would have been preferable.
How did you break the news that the fish was only good for compost?
“honey, this fish is mostly parasites I’m not even going to feed it to the cats”.
Like I don’t want to see it, but if you had a picture…
I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture, because noone in the family wanted to see. But the picture on the Wikipedia page gives the general idea.
wow i’ve never regretted clicking something this much
Well if you want to scrub that from your mind, motherless has at least one video of a guy sticking black soldier fly maggots in his pp hole.
oh no
That is the correct response.
So, you want an excuse to be outside, catch some sun and probably drink a few beers in peace.
I can respect that.
Idea: magnet strong enough to pick up a beer by the cap on the end of your line and go cooler fishing.
Steel cans are still manufactured? I only find aluminium cans, nowadays.
Bottle caps are magnetic. If you’re set on cans I’d tie a loop on the tabs and try to hook them.
And then throwing it in the water and abandoning it.
There’s a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot. – Steven Wright
