Basically yes, but not entirely. Nuclear fusion which happens in stars can produce elements higher than Helium.
Small stars however only go until they produce Carbon before they turn into something else because there the fusion process doesn’t produce too much energy anymore, and big stars can only go until Iron because after that there is no energy won from fusion anymore.
Every element that is higher than Iron is created by Supernovae or other high energy events in space.
