It’s actually a strength, but Be honest, You likely have no empathy for these retards the same as they have none for you. The true empathy comes through to all kinds despite your perception of them as cruelty you project back to them.

I work with a bunch of people who think this way. The even crazier thing is that half of them are also Mormon and the other half is Mexican.

Conservatism, boiled down to its core belief, to its very heart, is simply the belief that a certain small group (usually white, afluent, monocultural, with highly homogeneous backgrounds) has the right to inflict violence on everyone else.

‘no they just want to go back to how things were and they’re slow to adapt’

Buddy. Friend. Pal. Mate. Companion. They’re literally still fuming about the French Revolution and the Paris Commune challenging the divine authority of kings. They want to make it so you don’t have any power and they have all of it.

No seriously. It’s Edmund Burke and his whole shtick. Everything else is just dress-up really. Caring about the rights of women and everything just to pit one group against the next. They’ll play the political game but really it’s just they’re yearning to return to hunting people for sport as the nobles they take themselves for.

Also, it’s so fucking easy to not be ableist and yet here you are doing it anyway, OP. Shameful really.

I don’t like strawman arguments even when I agree with them, because they’re cringe and silly.

Never really understood the whole conservative thing until I found my guardian in college going off at the freeloaders and leeches of society in a car trip back to their house. They just don’t see people outside of their clan as humans, and it’s very disappointing to hear as a bushy tailed freshman at the time.

Somebody who is responsible for a kid. It’s a broader term than parent that includes people who have a different relationship but are ultimately raising the kid, like aunts/uncles, grandparents, foster parents, or anyone else who might be responsible for the kid.

Oh, I know that definition, but it sounded like the person I responded to met their guardian as a freshman.

Oh, gotcha. I read it as a conversation they had with their guardian that happened in their first year at college, not necessarily that the relationship started at that point.

Yeah, I’d understand a “it’s ok to not tolerate these intolerant people”, but it’s not helping to use another vulnerable group as an insult.

Not tolerating doesn’t mean not feeling empathy. “Yeah, I’m sad you had a shitty upbringing or decided to join this group so you had a sense of belonging, but I still can’t condone you calling for harm to others.”

I’ll see the conditions that made someone want to be a nazi but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t replay a video of them getting their teeth kicked in for like, an entire day. That shit makes my day. Fuck that, month.

Not true. I completely understand how they are the way they are, and I feel horrible for them. It’s a terrible existence to hate all the time and be brainwashed and manipulated.

But ultimately you can’t help people who don’t want to be helped, so you spend your time helping those who do.

It’s almost as if their entire ideology is inconsistent and based around hate of another group. I wonder if that makes them easy to manipulate? (Rhetorical)

Feels kind of like the Goomba fallacy. But sure, there are definitely people like this holding similar opinions, however it is usually more nuanced than how it is presented here.
