It is legal because the people in charge of the rules are the same people who accept ‘donations’
I think this post would be better suited for !climate@slrpnk.net than here, as it doesn’t really have any direct relation to solarpunk.
This just shows how important moving away from fossil fuels is in fighting the far right.
Although these “donations” are definitely heavily skewed to the right wing of politics, I would argue its apolitical, big oil is attempting to infest nearly all sides of UK politics:
Thankfully I couldn’t find any information on the Green Party or the Liberal Democrats.
In summary:
92 percent of Reform UK “donations” are from oil and gas interests, highly polluting industries, and climate science deniers.
