Yeah this is quite literally how I found the anti depression meds that actually worked for me. It took fucking years of trial and error but that’s the rub.
When I went to the psychiatrist (it’s free in my country, psychologist isn’t), it was: “oh cool the pills worked, you can quit now.”. The vibe I felt in the air was like “yeah well you can cope, we’ve got to take care of those who are worse off, sry.”
I get the impression that in a lot of countries, therapy is pretty hard to access, especially therapy that isn’t just “take these pills”.
“Now that you’ve been on these pills for 3 months, do you feel better? No? Ok, try this one instead for 3 months and see if things change.”
Motherfucker, that’s time. You are prescribing time.
