Netflix really fucked up with this show. I have to wonder why. Why ruin a good thing that has a decent sized audience?

From what I recall, producers/writers wanted more creative freedom, Cavill wanted more accuracy. And it was cheaper to replace Cavill so off he went.

Because whoever was in charge didn’t just want The Witcher. They wanted Fibojoly’s The Witcher.
Pride goes before a fall, and all that.

Seems like the main thing they fucked up in was hiring an actual fan to be in the show. They clearly had a vision in mind that departed quite a bit from the source material and that was going to bother hardcore fans of the original games and or books.

I’m pretty sure the main thing they fucked up was having a Clear Vision in mind that departed quite a bit from The Source material.

Beyond that, Hemsworth looks too much like his brother so it kept breaking what little immersion was left with me constantly forgetting Mjölnir or Loki aren’t going to show up.

Netflix doesn’t green light shows based on vision. There’s no concrete plan past the first/sexond season for most any show but especially not for Netflix.

What I mean is they had written a season, or at least the first few episodes and from the jump Henry Cavill read the script and was pointing out the inconsistency and just plain old wrongness of it. That should probably have been a heads up. He went from being excited to work on a show for a franchise he liked to hating the show, and that was a pretty stark and quick change.
