I struggle with this every day. I have friends that are far from being the sharpest tool in the shed, but still friends. However they’re so emotionally unintelligent that they’re willing to tear apart any friendship they have over a single difference of opinion… Or by arguing against literal, undeniable facts. These relationships are exhausting to maintain.

Or tried to swipe to the next post and accidentally did the downvote option on a random comment (happened to me too many times TT)

The latter suggested by you is funnier tho, so I decide to believe that one was the case :)

The rules for social media that work great for me are:

    • 75% of the time that I think need to comment, I actually don’t need to say anything. I delete my comment and move on.
    • once a comment is made, there will not be any reply to further comments. There’s nothing to gain from a back and forth. I’ve made my point, the other guy has made his point. Move on. The only exception will be purposeful invited questions (e.g. helping someone with solving a gaming related problem, answering a specific question regarding my home server, etc).
