What are y’all playing?
I’ve been playing Persona 5 Royal! I’m absolutely loving it. It’s my 3rd time trying to play and I think it’s really clicked this time. Super excited to keep playing :)
Just this last little while?
- FFVII (Intergrade)
- Above Snakes
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits
- Devil May Cry (DMC1) of the HD collection.
- Valheim
- Tales of Beseria
Final Fantasy Tactics! I’m going to really commit this time, I’ve been trying to beat this game since I was a kid. I never kept multiple saves and always locked my playthrough by saving in the wrong spot while under leveled.
If you’re playing the Ivalice Chronicles version, I do believe they made it impossible to get soft-locked that way thanks to a sort of escape menu for certain battles. Same thing happened to me back in the day and I beat it recently!
I’m playing the original actually. But this time I’m keeping a save after each battle lol! Any advice to save me some headache?
My best advice is try to give most of your team a way to revive each other. Chemist, White Mage and Monk. That can buy you a lot more time in the tough battles you could be locked into. Monks are especially OP because they can support and have really strong attacks, like shockwave which can cover the map if the elevation allows it.
Good luck!
I’m still on Baldurs Gate 3 and loving it
I have recently finished my 4th playthrough of FFX and am now playing Final Fantasy IX for the first time. Blind, so far about 25 hours in and I’m liking it a lot. The more light-hearted, cartoony story style isn’t usually my cup of tea, but the game is charming and despite a lot of junky writing, as is typical for Final Fantasy, I am emotioanlly invested in the future of these characters. The combat is also really nice and I like how well balanced and paced it is. I’d say it’s on the harder side as Final Fantasies go. Still not hard, but just spicy enough for casual play. I’m looking forward to finishing it probably sometime this week.
Oh, and fuck tetra master.
Just shloinked kcd2, excited to smith some horseshoes and play the newest dlc
Stick It To The Stickman (It’s early access, but lots of content, and on sale for $7). The janky controls are part of the charm, but they’re also pretty frustrating.
I’ve fallen hard into Where Winds Meet
I’ve been replaying We Happy Few, almost done with Sally’s act. I’m really looking forward to going through the DLCs again.
Playing Silksong. Knee-deep in act 2, or at least I think I am. I’m starting to see a lot of similarities between this game and Bloodborne (Team Cherry have never been afraid of saying how much they love FromSoft games, isn’t it?)
Resident Evil 4 Remake with the Berserker MOD. It is brutal… Lovin it!
Bloons TD6, Stardew valley, finished shakedown: maiami
I’ve been playing Bloons too. What are your favorite units to use? I’m clearing the basic difficulty stuff with all of the hard modifiers right now.
I’m going through all the silvers now on every map. I did a ton on the hardest difficulty for 5
I miss the shredder from btd5.
Just got Cult of the Lamb
About 16 hours in, I fuckin love it
Recently a gamed called Super Chipflake Ü: Quest for the uncooked Schnitzel released and I originally wasn’t gonna buy it because I thought it was gonna be a switch exclusive. Either way, I bought it when I found it is also on Steam. The trailer on steam and probably yt as well should tell you enough about this kinda silly game that I spent a few hours over the weekend playing.
I also started playing Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time on my steam deck since the disc copy I got keeps freezing in 2 PS3 consoles. First world in and I give it a yikes. The other games definitely had some probably slightly offensive stereotypes, but the 4th game opening up with a level called “Turning Japanese” and the way Rioichi speaks rubs me kinda wrong, despite it being a fun game.
Otherwise, I just got back into Slay The Spire and am still hate playing the Oaken Tower beta demo.
Edit: first game I listed came out January 18th. Made by a small German indie studio.
Persona 3 Reload, it’s absolutely sucked me in! Had tried to play the Portable version on Vita a few years back but never got into it. Helps that it runs smooth as butter on Steam deck, super easy to pick up and play with the sleep mode - dangerously so.
i’m replaying final fantasy 6 with a retranslation i haven’t played before called ‘revised old style edition’. I’m still in the world of balance but so far the translation is a good compromise between the innacurate warmth of the woolsey script and the dry accuracy of the slattery script. So far it’s my favourite translation, and next up will be the newly translated ‘t-edition’ mod
