Similar to the tamale lady, boiled peanuts are best purchased from the elderly or a fat kid at a minivan in a parking lot. They come in a styrofoam cup or a ziplock. I like them partially frozen, the brine makes them crunchy.
This is gonna make me want some. When I was a child and my parents would take me to my grandparents to visit my parents would always buy some on the way to Dahlonega.
I saw at least one comment saying they’ve never heard of them. I heavily associate them with the rural Southeast US and/or Appalachia. As suburban sprawl crept our further I saw them less. The area I’m in now I don’t ever really see them.
They’re very much one of those snacks where you can buy them from the store and convenience stores, but it just isn’t the same. Sometimes restaurants have them and they’re pretty good, but it just doesn’t feel the same.
Ive never heard of this! What’s it taste like? How’s the texture?
Kind of nutty but more like a chickpea/garbonzo than peanut. Very salty, a common variety is cajun. Texture is somewhere between water chestnut and a firm Lima bean depending on how long they’ve been boiled. I prefer them on the firmer side.
Oh that’s sounds fantastic! I gotta plant some peanuts this sling just to try it out. Thank you Sir
I thought this was a sandwich filled with shallots and thought “God damn”
I would fuck with a shallot sandwich.
An old country favorite.
Why is your garlic purple?

and if any word is spelled correctly on the sign, that’s a sign that they won’t be quite as good.
Biled P-Nuts!
That’s definitely some sort of rodent testicle. You won’t fool me again.
I make them in my instant pot.
From roasted or green?
Green.
What are they like?
They have an earthy taste.
I use your instant pot too.
It’s great.
Satan’s maggoty cum-fart.
I’ve never seen that many peanuts in a pod before. Vast majority have been two, with the odd triple or rare quadruple.
They’re rare but I used to see them like 1:3 visits to random gas stations on a road trip getting fresh boiled peanuts
These things are weird
And delicious
Redneck edamame
Boiled goobers (peanuts) will get you even gassier than baked beans!
Didn’t I see these in The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds? The old lady at the bachelorette wore them, right?
