These past few weeks I got Switch and 3DS emulation running pretty well, so I’ve been bouncing between various exclusive games on both platforms lately. I just found out this morning that Puzzle Quest got a new release on Steam last September, though, so I’ll probably be playing that for a while as it always sucks me in when I start a playthrough. Planning to get Scott Pilgrim EX soon and play that as well.

After the winter sale and some Christmas gift cards I was kinda paralyzed by choice and just stopped playing.

I’ve been following “Video Game Club” on Mastodon and the March game is Super Mario Galaxy. So getting emulator and controller working for that and getting it going. The game itself seems decent, but has not become a total timesink yet.

Switch or Wii version? The Wii one runs a bit better, but is more of a pain to set up controls. The Switch one is perfectly playable and gyro even works.

Steamworld Build. Didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do but I’m on my 4th play through (you unlock a special building each time) and am still enjoying it. Wonderful little gem of a game.

I’ve been playing through Expedition 33 again now that it’s “Deck verified”. It’s a pretty rough experience out of the box, but with a mod, xess updates, and some tweaks it’s running well enough. I can at least parry properly now. My PC is having issues, so I’ve been using the deck docked as a replacement. With a monitor and KBM, Laysara has been an absolute pleasure to play. Runs very well, and it’s a great twist on a city builder IMHO.

Spelunky 2 and Final Fantasy 7 with mods. Took a bit to get running, but FF7 is great with widescreen and upscaled everything

It’s been Mewgenics for me. I love this game, but I find it Act II to be very difficult. I usually stay away from turn based tactics, so optimizing my runs has been a wonderful challenge.

I’ve mostly been playing Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza on Hawaii. It’s been a great time so far, easily the silliest Yakuza game I’ve played. I prefer the turn based combat of the newer mainline games to the beat-em-up combat of this one and the originals, but I’m still having a great time with it.

Been playing Monster Hunter Wilds with a friend, and as you know, Deck performance is pretty rough. However I was able to get it to run acceptably enough.

Finally been replaying an older game I had called “A Robot Named Fight”. It’s basically Super Metroid, but as a rogue-like. It’s a lot of fun, really captures a lot of the fun of those games while having every run feel different.

Jumping between Ridge Racer 2 (PSP one) and The Legend of Linkle: Breath of the Wild (BotW, just modded).

With RR2 I pretty much stick to random tours at this point as I really don’t want to deal with playing the final duels of the pro tour (I cleared one, tried another and decided it’s just not fun). I’ve been on a bit of a binge of RR related media (videos, listening to the soundtracks) so I come back to this game regularly. I also decided to try out Ridge Racer Type 4 but I’m doing it on my PC due to laziness. Didn’t play enough to have an opinion on that one yet.

With BotW I came back after a year or so long break and decided to start from scratch with refreshed attitude instead of continuing my previous save. I’m having a bit more fun and less pressure to progress this time so there’s a chance I’ll be able to finish it (I got about half-way on my first attempt). We’ll see how it goes.
At the very least, I’d love a proper Zelda game with Linkle as a protagonist. Heck, I’d settle for a decent knockoff.
