!politicalvideos@lemmy.world per Rule 5.
It’s got some politics, but I figured the video is more on Oracle. I’ll let the mods decide.
It’s got some politics
- The impact text in the thumbnail is “Oracle took over Medicare”.
- The first sentence of the description is “Yesterday Oracle got authorization to run generative AI on federal government data”.
- The title is about a combination of the ongoing war with Iran and (implicitly, discussed in the video) how it’s causing a merger to slip under Congress’ radar.
- The Drey Dossier is, by its own words, about “Investigating the intersection of Power x Tech x Politics”.
- Skipping around in the video has constant discussion of US politics (because no shit; a lake is wet).
- The thumbnail features Trump, Netanyahu, and prominent Trump ally Larry Ellison against a backdrop of a bomb dropped on Iran.
We’re all adults here; we don’t have to bullshit each other like this. You can just say “I don’t care”.
When it comes to spooky centralized databases of data gathered without my consent that governments will be able to access, yeah, I don’t care.
I find this channel sus. Their whole thing about a bunker under the White House seems like nonsense. Cliched old school style conspiracy nonsense.
So nonsense that CNN came to the same conclusion three months after Drey posted that video?
https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/19/politics/east-wing-secret-bunker-construction-details
During a recent meeting of the National Capital Planning Commission where the ballroom was discussed, White House director of management and administration Joshua Fisher said broadly that the overall ballroom project will “(enhance) mission critical functionality,” “make necessary security enhancements” and “(deliver) resilient, adaptive infrastructure aligned with future mission needs.”
Fisher was pressed on why the project broke with precedent by starting the demolition process without the commission’s approval — and he indicated that the “top-secret” work taking place underground was the motivation.
“There are some things regarding this project that are, frankly, of top-secret nature that we are currently working on. That does not preclude us from changing the above-grade structure, but that work needed to be considered when doing this project, which was not part of the NCPC process,” he said.
The White House declined CNN’s request for comment. But in a court filing last week for a case seeking to stop the East Wing construction, the White House defended the process, saying that halting the underground construction would “endanger national security and therefore impair the public interest.” It said the reasoning for this was described in a “classified declaration” attached to the case.
There was already a bunker under the East Wing. Why wouldn’t they want to update a bunker with 1940’s infrastructure?
Cliched old school style conspiracy nonsense.
But tbf aren’t those the exact kind that either scheduled declassification of old gov documents, or leaked info & whistleblowers like Snowden keep proving to be right beyond widest expectations (and additionally that there was/is a massive coordinated propaganda to associate all “conspiracy theories” by default as something kooky, as if conspiracies themselves aren’t a thing/just paranoia, so that we dismiss the notions as false solely on the basis that the gov or private companies said differently)?
