Misread the title as “And a Cat Died” and was so confused.
The change in background for each panel is excellent. 🤣
“Cat/dog dad/mom” implies that the pet is forever a child, due to their species. rather than a fellow adult equal (species differences notwithstanding) in dignity. I prefer to think of them as chosen family, or possibly the weird housemate.
I call my dog “best friend” but he calls me “dad”, so ymmv. Despite being 9 years old, he’s pretty convinced that he’s just a wittle baby
I think this was one of the best lol
I remind my sons often how my dog is my favorite child.
