Good i dumped Windows. Just sent my brother this article - i’ve been trying to convert him since i swapped over, and that article might be the straw that breaks the camels back.

He’s actually more involved in IT than i ever was, but all the areas he worked in were MS dominated, so he went that path professionally. But he has plenty of experience with linux too, and adapts quickly to changing environments, so i am pretty sure that it would be easy enough for him to make the change. inertia is a bitch.
I don’t think anybody should have been surprised since at least XP that Windows assigns your PC a UUID. The surprising betrayal is that it’s leaked (or worse, used intentionally) for purposes other than Windows activation.
