    To show off their allegiance, associate with their achievements & generally bask in someone else’s glory to feel good.

    Much the same as wearing band t-shirts really. Or any brand. Plus it can help people feel like their ‘fitting in’ with their peers.

    Like it, lump it or ignore it. Your choice. It doesn’t bother me personally, though I did wonder why myself in the past.

    In this case, Argentina, I can’t help that this is an apt choice given the criticism levelled at the team’s bad behaviour at the WC. If this was made recently, a nice touch!

        True it does help with starting conversations sometimes & being able to spot people with similar tastes when meeting new people. But I personally do not like the idea of having to wear (or do) something purely for the benefit of someone else. It’s an unpleasant peer pressure essentially.

        Do you not think that you may be missing out on good company, just because that person doesn’t display their personality to you?
