What are those for? To prevent drones from getting right up on them before exploding?

Yup. Lots of images like this if you look for “ukraine/russia drone cage vehicle”

Wouldn’t this be resolved by a drone firing something to burn the threads, then entering?

Adding weight for that would decrease range, maneuverability, speed, and payload capacity. At the same time, you’d need much more precision to enter through the created hole. While suffering from reduced maneuverability. So this seems rather impractical. Mine-laying drones would make more sense to me.

Yeah these drones have to just fly straight at the vehicle and explode. If they hover around for a bit they will just get shot down by rifles.

Spaced armour. The blocks under the wiring are explosive reactive armor.

We can all laugh at how silly this looks, but there’s videos of these things taking more than 30 drones.

Same with the ,cope cages" everyone was joking about in the early years of the war.

If it works it ain’t stupid, even if it looks ridiculous at first glance.

Turns out looking cool and kicking ass are not the same thing. Who knew?

And people really laughed at fucking cages?

It was used in Afghanistan and let me tell you, a lot worse than ‘cope cages’ were used.

I lived with a warpervert (toy lover not vicious monster) for a while. Saw all the kinds of tanks and stuff in use. Had them explained to me past semantic satiation.

Oh I get that. I was once deeply involved in World War 2 strategy games, including development. I have spent more time reading slope armor debates and suffered enough Clean Wehrmacht myth arguments than a normal healthy mind can (or should) withstand.

I like to think I closed the loop at myself and didn’t subject normies to it.

      I’d assume camouflage.

Yes, I realize it’s not very camouflaging from that close - but the idea is that aerial photographs are taken from far away and the resolution is not that good so it should look like part of the vegetation.

I feel like it’s drifting into the tactical assault shed family.
