A boner and the women get hotter?
Sounds like a win win.
Don’t worry, in absolute numbers the risk is 3,93 % compared to 3,16 % for non-users (5year). Just looking at the raw percent in the article make it seem like it gives you a 33% risk - hate articles like that.
Same deal with cancer increases from different activities.
“Eating salami increases your cancer risk by 25%!” When it went from 0.3% to 0.375% over your lifetime or something.
Smoking is still a substantial increase though. Plus the fact that a minority of smokers get lung cancer, but 90% of people with lung cancer were smokers.

Eating 50g of cured meats every day raises the risk from about 5% to about 6% chance of getting certain gastrointestinal/colorectal cancers, compared to someone who never eats cured meats. A couple different ways to state this:
- 1% of cured meat eaters will develop cancer that they wouldn’t have otherwise developed, by eating cured meat.
- There is a 20% increase in risk of cancer from eating cured meat.
- Cured meat eaters who have cancer have approximately a 16% chance of having gotten the cancer from the meat they eat.
But it’s not negligible. And the causal connection is pretty strongly proven.
Never eat sausage or pepperoni, or have a slight increase in cancer risk? I’ll take the meats.
I’m sure it’s cumulative, so of course I’ll not eat like a stick of pepperoni every day, but once in a while won’t appreciably increase my risk. (I had one sausage and one pepperoni piece of pizza today for lunch, in fact.)
Yeah I bet its both dose and consistency that do it. I can’t live without cured meat, cheese, and campfire bread while backpacking or camping…
I know its just I have a 50/50 shot of getting cancer if I live like a monk and avoid carcinogenic foods, or i can eat what I enjoy and makes my life fulfilling knowing my risk is probably like 10% higher overall.
I think the fact that I don’t drink or smoke at all makes up for it. I can enjoy cured and smoked meats to my hearts content.
Lies, damned lies and statistics.
Fox!
All ED meds do this. Not new information.
I seem to recall hearing that viagra will turn your vision blue. And then they released that series of ads for it with a blue tint, which struck me as an interesting choice.
So, it actually DOES make you do blind!
It’s almost like people need to learn how to accept that they’re going to get old and die.
Edit: truth hurts
Yeah, why even use vitamins or do resistance training, just accept the inevitable
Crazy how you liken taking vitamins and exercise to taking a drug that makes your dick work.
Holy fuck - the biological clock is real.
Crazy how you think one of the most vital functions for a man and reproduction is not as important as less energy from some vitamin deficiency.
Reminder that often the problem is circulation, botched surgeries, alcoholism during early years, etc.
It is not a vital function, and erectile dysfunction is usually a signifier of poor lifestyle choices. I can’t speak to botched surgeries, but I’ll bet you 5000$ that the typical man experiencing erectile dysfunction is the result of either being fat (or old, which usually means fat) or gripping your dick too hard during masturbation.
I.e. either take care of yourself or don’t - you’re going to die anyway.
I get it. You don’t think fat people should have sex… Weird take, but you do you I guess…
I.e. either take care of yourself or don’t - you’re going to die anyway.
Holy FUCK I am sick of redditors

“Take care of yourself!”
“We developed a medicine”
“Wait no not like that”
tadalafil
If this this drug had a female equivalent it wouldn’t be sold OTC because it’s dangerous to take it when you have high blood pressure. This study just piles up more evidence for it. I guess this is a rare instance where sexism inherent to medicine and pharmacology bites men in the butt.Guess what, ED drugs (really BP drugs because they were developed as vasidilators for blood pressure management) aren’t legally available without a prescription.
aren’t legally available without a prescription.
sure, like oxycontin.
I stand corrected, tadalafil is not OTC in many countries, only sildenafil is. Tadalafil is OTC where I live since 2022 and I assumed it’s the same elsewhere.
You can just buy them online. Legality is irrelevant to the topic.
No ED medication is over the counter in Canada.
