That last panel is like the guy sipping wine in a chair as the tsunami approaches, or the one person at the end of Don’t Look Up doing a ceremonial dance as things fall from the sky. Might as well greet it in your own way.
Also the first panels remind me of the start of Don’t Look Up, one of my favorite parts. “Why does the ephemeris keep getting
lower and lower?”
Always loved in Lucifer’s Hammer, a bunch of surfers go out to meet the incoming impact tsunamis, and you get a POV chapter as the wave washes them in to the city, and the surfers drop like flies till there’s 10… 5… 1…
