That’s me and my headless main home server (headless because the screen spontaneously combusted)
Works totally fine as a docker box! Although will soon have to get converted to the church of nix
Mimi oscillates between deranged and relatable with astounding speed.
no jet plane takeoff for my 2016 HP Envy laptop, the fan was the first thing to die (it thankfully doesn’t get that hot, I installed Core Temp to track it)
Next was the battery, which got to where it wouldn’t even last long enough to move from one power adapter to another. So I removed it and just use the laptop at a desk. Like a desktop. Like Mimi!
And, I suspect also like Mimi, I still use it every day.
Reminds me of

Whenever I see this comic gal she reminds me of the girl vampire cop from the Hellsing series
Makes me think of that guy when I was in coding school. The school bulked-bought high-end laptops for us so we had them for a price way below market. And one of the students broke his screen in like 2 weeks so he had to bring a monitor to class along with his laptop… :/
A 20” Gateway CRT?
Lol no, I’m not that old. It was a flat screen monitor. A lot lighter, but still very humiliating for that guy.
The beatings will continue until bootup completes.
My 15 year old MSI laptop running Mint xfce is still chugging along, albeit slowly. I just have to wait a full minute after logging in before I open any apps.
a minute is also normal on 2 year old mac and windows tho
That fan whirrrrrr is calling me out…
It usually takes five attempts for my ancient PC to get through the boot sequence and actually start up the OS. It’s like on old car that never started up on the first try.
Time for linux!
