And then there is the truth that if nobody is persecuted yet it will also not change by voting the other party. That needs an even greater push than just voting (but still vote!).
One side is ruled by fear and hatred of the unknown, projecting their malignant sexual insecurities on everyone else and forming a literal death cult. The other side just wants healthcare and to like enjoy stuff. Sometimes they’re kinda annoying about it.
Both sides fund endless war abroad and are pro global subjugation at the behest of the corporations that run our government let’s not jerk the dems off too hard here
And yet if everyone always voted for the superior party by any clear metric, eventually that metric would become policy for both parties.
Like, the only reason both sides suck so badly is that the American public is so bad at voting for the better party. If the dems won a few times in a row the republicans would realign to suit the new reality, and then maybe they’d have to compete with each other on questions like corporate control and militarism, instead of the shitshow we have now.
Not saying the 2 party system is good (it’s not, it slows down realignment when the parties are out of whack with the public and encourages partisanship), but it’s not the only reason American politics is a mess. Maybe not even the biggest at this point.
I disagree wholeheartedly. Both parties, while not the same, are objectively instruments of capital and serve exclusively to extend the longevity of its hegemony over society and the rest of the world (as the US is the largest global progenitor of imperialism). Any reforms we get are merely a side effect of it being whatever assuages people in society enough to stave off any kind of true revolutionary moment that would fundamentally reverse the polarity of power. The Democratic party has no interest in corporate control or combating militarism because at it’s core these are what drive US power at home and abroad. They may play lip service to these things from time to time. They may slap a fine on a company or prevent a merger here and there but fundamentally they will not work to change the hands of power back to the people where it belongs. The Democratic party has been doing this for decades and decades. It is nothing new. The political climate we are in today is a logical continuation of the work both parties have been engaging in since long before you are I were ever around to comment on it.
Both sides have excellent points, yet the truth is surely found somewhere in the middle. /s

Clearly they’re exactly the same 🤷♀️

Yeah we know pal. Do you feel better now?
Careful, his bot farm isn’t running at capacity anymore, it’s like beating up a child. /s
Some people says the Sun dawns at East; other people say it dawns at West. The truth is certainly somewhere in between.
That just dawned on me.
Kind of, the Dems wouldn’t do that.
