Idk man, I’ve always looked way younger than my age when shaved, but not that extreme. Skin care or not, I would not want to look like that at 34.
That’s Pierce Brosnan, famous for his role as Mister Doubtfire and the voice of Genie in Aladdin

She’s a lot less blue than I remember, but that’s her.
This can’t be real…jesus
Part of it, I’m sure, is that Thomas has babyface. Part of it, too, is that people don’t smoke cigarettes, or drink as much as they used to, or generally live as hard of lives. Living through the 2000s, for example, isn’t really as complicated perhaps, or troubling, as living through the Great Depression and World War II and the Cold War.
Smoking, alcohol, no sunscreen will still age up a person of today by 10 years.
I think also one of them probably had an easier path:
Sean Connery’s father was Joseph Connery, a factory worker and lorry driver.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster was the actor and performer, Mark Sangster.

Some people used to be born old. That’s just how the world worked. Also, stupid fashion. Have you seen a photo of a woman college student in the 80s? They look 40.
Those huge glasses that were in vogue in the 80’s did no one any favors.
Nah just drugs/drinking/smoking. He has admitted he started smoking at 9

Neat, not a shitpost.
yeah not even a speck of visible feces like wth‽!
I’m so deeply offended by this post not meeting my exacting criteria for what a shit post is. How could OP not have consulted me? Me! The arbiter of all that is true and good on the Internet. Shame on your house, OP! You will be Blood Eagled by a team of dachshund ninjas for this transgression!
No need to get offended about it bud, they just posted to the wrong comm is all!
Thomas is like a genetically engineered femboy for Hollywood billionaires.
No need to go out and molest nubile young boys in the Caribbean, this bad boy is of legal age and doesn’t look a day past 15.
Like a human version of a toy dog, but with a genetically superior bussy.

These pictures are due to two things; genetics and lighting. Even though dude on right looks younger generally, if he was photographed in the same light as Connery they would look much closer in age.
You can see the shadow on the wall behind him. There is a light below his eyeline. That’s called a beauty light, and it hides wrinkles by lighting the areas that would be in shadow from lights above.
But smoking also has a lot to do with it.

Wow they look like two completely different people
But, you can only tell that because one used sunscreen, and one didn’t. Otherwise they’d look exactly identical. /s
What if James Bond did a pdrn mask every time he was supposed to drink and smoke and every time he was supposed have a villain try to torture him he got HIFU instead?
Crazy how nature do that.
They’re different people? I thought that was just angle and lighting.
The difference is 1 part genetics, 1 part skin care routines, 1 part sun protection habits, 7 parts a lifetime with or without smoking and being surrounded by people smoking at nearly all times.
You forgot “1 part warlock’s curse”
I mean, the
boyman literally looks 13!It’s like Stephen King’s Thinner, but with visual age rather than weight.
Its the angle and lightning. If you look up other pictures of him he looks more like an actual adult. Still way younger looking than Sean of course.
I was gonna say, Thomas definitely looks younger here than Sean looks older
“White boy from town, why you no eat you own baby food?”
Sean Connery also wore a toupée ever since he was in his 20s. Dude went bald early and hid it from the world until he was an old man.
I wonder if it is also differing beauty standards. Older men used to be considered more sexy. Nowadays a guy over 40 is basically a corpse but if you watch old movies you’ll see guys who look 50 or even 60 in hero roles, and they get the girl, too.
So what I’m saying is, Sean Connery might never be chosen as a leading actor today because he looks too old.
I know 50+ year old men who get plenty, and look pretty hot. The key, besides genetics, seems to be both not smoking and doing enough sports.
Sure but you can’t name many movies where a guy over 50 gets plenty. We all know that media beauty standards don’t hold up the same in reality. Large ladies getting plenty of action in reality being the most obvious example.

Ouch!
Don’t worry, I feel your pain. Just wait until the day a beautiful women says you’re like an uncle to her.
Idk, I’ve been around and been a smoker a large portion of life, I look like I’m a young 25 still despite being 35 (it ain’t me saying, I just got a young face). Some people just look younger for longer.
I don’t feel 25, my body hates what I’ve done to it 😂

It’s also nose and ear size, jawline, and lighting. Although it’s possible that’s already a toupee on Sean.

Here his is in dr no a year later looking more like he’s 40 instead of 55, given he’s in makup, but the crows-feet smile lines aren’t doing him any favors.
and here he is 7 years later in 71 (41 years old) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Connery#/media/File:Sean_Connery_as_James_Bond_(1971).jpg
TBH, the effect on skin from smoking seem to hit like a truck in the 40’s, that’s gotta be severe tanning, smoking and some really rough genetics.
He would have been early 30s in Dr No, it was released two years before Goldfinch. Still, though, it’s crazy how much the lifestyles of previous generations differ from current lifestyles and how you can literally read it on people’s faces.
Goldfinch
goooooldddFINCHAAAAA… .the bird with the MIDAS TOUCH! Such a coooold finchaahhh
And crazy enough, He grew up in Scottland, That puts you on the less likely end of the scale to grow up with too much sun :)
Peter Capaldi and William Hartnell were same age bracket when they played the Doctor.
Amazing what not living through a depression and world war can do for ya
It’s funny that culturally 34 was considered a middle aged man back then whereas 34 today feels like an old 20 something.
You made my entire week and added spring in my step, I just hope it won’t ruin my knees.
What knees? Your bones are gone, dumb vegoon. They evaporated the moment you stopped consuming animals.

I love that website, exactly my style!
Hahaha wtf is this‽
Something to hopefully make people think about cognitive dissonance and consider how they could change.
Ah I had not scrolled far enough. Now it makes sense. And I’m hungry now. Anyone got dog?
Address not found
It loads for me on multiple browsers, on multiple VPN locations.
Is there literally just no preview link for you? Or does it fail in the browser?
Nah you’ll just throw your back out instead
My back’s been at leat some level of thrown out for the last 15 years.
Re: the other comment, isn’t it weird how people just come up to you on the internet, and say, “hey, I’m an asshole, block me!” That’s weird.
If you are refering to the dog meat lover, it’s actually a vegan satire site!
Oh! Welp
🤦♂️
And the 20 y/o’s feel like babies. I see dudes get weird with the younger nursing assistants sometimes and get a tiny reflexive EXCUSE YOU…???
Sean is always cool, but I wonder how Thomas would look had he been smoking a pack a day for 20 years too.
Is this really it? I thought the non smoking would be compensated by the increased pollution of everything
I’m sure sun exposure also plays a role, everyone wears SPF 8000 sunblock now, while they were putting on tanning oil back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s
Really? I thought sunblock was pretty over the top in Connery’s day.

now that’s a golden tan!

I’ll buy that for a dollar!
Calm down, Captain Kirk
Air pollution was worse in the last century https://ourworldindata.org/outdoor-air-pollution
Thanks for the informative response. I’m a bit confused by the graphs given, that track emissions and not air quality itself. Would you know why?
AQI is highly variable by locale and hour. It averages out in the end, but measuring regional and global emissions is a better way to compare disparate time periods, except for areas at the extremes.
I would expect emissions to cumulatively impact air quality, is that not the case?
To begin, it does accumulate in the region where it is created, but of course it diffuses over time, so 10 pollution could be 7 locally and 3 globally. The heavy elements (soot) never get very far and naturally fall out of the air. Some elements are broken down by sunlight. Some bind to rain and are washed into the ground. If pollution is constant, you reach an equilibrium in the air quality. Decreasing output slowly lowers that equilibrium and improves the air quality in the end.
Thanks, that’s very informative!
Pollution was worse back then, look up smog in the 70s. We’ve introduced catalytic converters, emissions standards, etc. Most people now question why we need clean air laws because we have clean air, much like people thinking we don’t need vaccines because those diseases aren’t around.
Which is funny because those diseases are still around since they flare up when people stop taking vaccines.
There’s significantly less air and water pollution now than the past, with the only exception being microplastics. We haven’t found many short-term impacts from that yet, though
I was thinking of PFAS, pesticides, ultra-processed food and such
Considering back then they had asbestos, lead, etc, we’re still a lot better off now, I think. A lot of our stuff now is “this increases risk” whreas a lot of stuff then was “this causes literal organ failure”.
Pollution was probably another contributing factor; I’d be surprised if it wasn’t a lot worse in the 60s than it is now: a lot of environmental controls got put in place in the intervening decades. Remember, there was leaded gasoline everywhere, and acid rain scares and the ozone layer depletion in the 80s.
Connery also grew in the wake of WW2, that kind of stress ages you early
It’s a combination of many factors over time. Diet, sun exposure, smoking. Lots of things we have more information about now than we did then. Medicine is better, genetics, etc.
Oh ya, because removing lead from the air made it so much worse. /s
