you made me go back and look and confused me some as well. Yea looks like she sat up which made her feet go to the floor which made her legs get hidden by the blanket. I would expect it was to avoid the 90 degree body angle since those angles generally don’t look natural for postures.

Well the IED doesn’t just go off, it is triggered by weight. So when she goes to get off the table the bomb trips and explodes
You should be more concerned about what happened to her legs in the fourth panel.
