It took me way longer to discover what IED meant, but if you bias your search engine towards English, it says Improvised Explosive Device in no time.
you made me go back and look and confused me some as well. Yea looks like she sat up which made her feet go to the floor which made her legs get hidden by the blanket. I would expect it was to avoid the 90 degree body angle since those angles generally don’t look natural for postures.
