And its No Effort November too (sigh) guess I have to watch it now aswell)
correct
Dude… We had an 8-track cartridge you could put cassettes in so you could play them on the 8-track!
I vaguely remember that being a thing. If I’m not mistaken, it had a smaller playhead inside the loader? Cassette tape was too small for the 8 track play head and would have been chewed up.
Yeah. It was a small cassette player mounted in an 8-track cartridge shape.
Elvis is more than one Elvi
That’s a car
Motherfucker, I drove that car.
Portable hard drive. These babies were more durable than floppies and could store about 700k on a capacitor array. Iirc, the glovebox would open to show 6" CRT so you could play games on the road, only the cables were so short only the front passengers could play without the $60 extender. The only downside was the aftermarket installers usually installed a separate pair of speakers yould hang from the shades, so the car stereo would sometimes drown out the bgm.
I remember having a car that had a deck for 5 CD’s in the glove box
Same. I had one of these with a 5 CD changer but for some reason it was in the boot/trunk.

I also had a car with the multiple CD’s in the trunk. I think it was a Mercedes
Pfft! It’s 2026 now… the stereo in my car holds 6 CDs.
