Yea… its hard to find weird people. Fewer that can stand me and vice versa. But being around normal people is… suffocating. When you spend your life trying to fit in, you don’t get to live. You don’t even get to learn how to live. But the times you meet people you vibe with are ecstatic enough to carry you forever.
So fuck it.
I’ll die weird and alone but, with the few awesome weird people at my back, I won’t be lonely.
Bruh wtf this is dark af
That’s life for a lot of people.
What is “normal” in this case? Because reading a book and drinking tea(?) is pretty up there on what I would consider normal
Learning to never be in view of the letterbox, that maybe having friends over isn’t okay and then letting them go as they quickly learn you can never reciprocate a house invite, avoiding the neighbours eyes, glancing wearily at each car that drives past, diving into books because anything else is too loud, …
I can go on
Warily

Learning to never be in view of the letterbox
What?
Some places have a slit in the door for letters, I guess that is what they’re talking about
Hmm yeah, I have a small window in my front door and I’m always conscious about the fact that somehow could see me when I walk past it. I need to get a curtain or something…
But why avoid them?
I guess a similar reason as panel 2 in the image, to prevent the landlord from knowing you’re home because of overdue rent or something.
Ohhh
maybe a cw? Because this kinda hits hard
Normal is made up. Be your best self
Was raised “normal”. Turned not “normal”. Must be something else entirely
Normal is the main character in idiocracy. You can probably do better
no, that’s Not Sure
Go away, 'bating!
Not Sure it’s the main character. Maybe you’re thinking of whose brain The Creature got in Young Frankenstein, “Abby… Someone… Abby Normal.”
🩷 keep being unapologetically yourself!
I may be lonely, but… Yeah just that.
What is happening in the bottom left panel?
“You’re so mature for your age” is what predatorial adults often say to traumatised teens with self esteem issues to make them feel special and manipulate them into their control. In the panel they use it to push her to drink, presumably to lower her resistance to whatever they have in mind for later.
Probably a high school party.
As another poster pointed out, the mature for your age part automatically makes the people offering more drinks older people who go after younger women, which is abundant in many places. I was recently discussing this with someone who has been through this when she went back to her home country of St Vincent (while I have Vincentian heritage and lived there from 2-7, I was born in the US and lived the rest of my life here).
Anyway, she says it’s almost expected down there for younger girls and older men to get together, and some people hit on her because she (at around age 21) looked young enough to be in high school. When she told them she was older, they told her excitedly that she’d be even more popular because she’d be legal despite looking young.
