I’m happy to see the kids carrying on the ancient traditions, I look forward to your Occupy Wall Street.

Rude? To a religion that physically and/or emotionally traps people? Traps them in those specific labyrinthine buildings shown in the speedruns? In out of the way rooms occasionally shown in these speedruns? No, not rude.

My only worry is that Scientology will pull itself out of its own ass and twist the narrative to use this as advertising. Or that some kid will do this alone and never return.

It’s doubtful any kind of increased attention on Scientology will benefit the cult. Too much is already known about them for anyone to take them seriously. In the past, they relied on the public’s lack of knowledge of their inner workings to recruit new members. Today, a quick google will bring up Xenu, Sea Org, harassment campaigns, slavery, the Miscaviges, and South Park. Scientology hasn’t faired well in the Information Age.

Cultists generally get mad when called a culstist, especially when you point out that the only difference between a cult and a religion is size and age.

The cult of Christianity has poisoned the world with its mythos, and is worse off for it.

Scientologists are shit, and they DO destroy lives, but at least they didn’t hijack the US government to age-gate the internet and funnel tax dollars directly into unconditional support for Israel.

So yes, at least in the case of Christians, “most religious people are out of control cultists” or at least “most religious people belong to organizations that directly feed out of control cultists” is accurate enough to be fair.

You are the problem of the US. Not the maga, not scientologists, not even evangelical christians. These groups are just trying to seize power through people like you. People who are on the edge to hate.

              Genuinely fuck you too.

LOL, someone must feel seen if they think calling out religious people is worse than the goddamned fascists killing people.

Maybe try directing your impotent rage at the people actively fucking up the country?

There will always be “people on the edge” for evangelical Christians to hate, no matter how much we coddle them.

Funny but bad idea, helps reinforce the cult mentality for the members.

Edit: bad because it reinforces the “world is against us, we have to stick together” mindset that cults will encourage already. I feel sad for the members that are in scientology and other cults/groups that prey on the lonely or gullible.

They’re a cult, they’re happy to do that themselves, in fact it’s their whole thing. If anything, humiliating them in the public like this could make the scientology-curious think twice before deciding to become a member

There’s really not a good way to reach out to current members. Hopefully this will weaken appeal and influence on out members.
