Hey Execs, do you think maybe if you need to hide behind armed security, that you might just be going down the wrong path by doing evil shit? Also armed guards won’t help you if you make the public mad enough and destroy enough lives to where it doesn’t matter if they live or not to them. Just a thought
No.
It’s everyone else who is wrong. You ignorant fools just can’t see how they are going to make life better for everyone.
Or you could, y’know, just stop.
using china’s efforts as the carrot on a stick isnt the goad they think it is
why not just be like MUSK, produce children to use as human meat shield.
He’s mostly using them as spare organ storage. Sort of a DIY Parts: The Clonus Horror.
What is the answer when the wealthy murder countless people but hide it by doing it indirectly?
How are people supposed to make them stop?
Because the murder that the wealthy are doing needs to stop.
Everyone who is not them needs it to stop.
This is a well understood phenomenon well explored in many books with both nuanced and obvious answers, please ask your local librarian to direct you. In the mean time I’ve heard the new movie I Love Boosters is really good…
murder
You answered your own question.
No, they aren’t terrified. These people think they are demigods. I’ve seen it in plent of senior vice presidents even. It’s almost a job requirement at this point. Body guards make them feel even more important, and the company pays for it. Plus… that other tech bro has it, so I should too. That’s just the type of people we are dealing with.
I met Thiel once. He was every bit the cunt you’d think he was.
Why did you let him live? You had a chance!
I met Thiel once.
Tell us more!
Armed bodyguards for billionaires are now pariahs. If you know one, isolate them, tell everyone who they are, and the boot they lick. More hated than the glassholes.
Or persuade them…
I’m disgusted with the willingness to allow murder just because you disagree with the systems and products a side is producing. Stark reminder why and how lemmy is still niche with this unconstructive murderous extremism. Violence and murder is almost never the answer, especially in a democracy. People will not agree with your sentiment because you make threats, attack or kill people you dislike. My opinion might be the minority on lemmy or in this thread but its very much the social majority in general. Its good people aren’t driven insane by ideology
Murder is the illegal killing of humans. We are talking about legal defense.
“products a side is producing”

This is not partisan, fencesitter.
The reason why these techbros are getting worried enough to hire meatshields is because they know the material conditions of the people they are fucking over WILL GET WORSE.
Our air is being poisoned.
The warehouses of electrical equipment that need an entire state’s worth of power shake the homes with sub bass that works like an indirect LRAD
They either dump industrial waste into the water or just straight up piss warm bacteria loaded water right back into the water table after using it for cooling.
What happens when you take away everything that the most disenfranchised people have and then actively posion their entire neighbourhood?
You get people with nothing to lose, in a system that refuses to protect them when they do nothing but try to live their lives.
AGREED! Murder is NEVER the Answer! UNLESS it’s a Rich person killing ENTIRE Towns of People by Poisoning their Air and Water. THATS ok!
vIoLeNcE iS nEvEr ThE aNsWer!
People like you are why we’re here.
Cope and seethe. Come and kill my like your much hated tech CEO. The situation in the US isn’t pleasant for sure and I’m happy not to be US-citizen. But if you tolerate lawlessness in this area it might erode in others. I don’t like the way many big corporations operate. People that are politically active and support your cause with non-violent means are critical to achieve anything in democracy. Otherwise you might just repulse the ones who would otherwise agree on sane policies.
I would argue people like me is why stuff still functions. I don’t just go up to my political opponent and kill them. We are one society and we can’t let the polarization come too far
Oh you dont even live here. Kindly fuck now.
It’s called a Class War for a reason. If the USA is any indication everyone else should be spurning the rich and right quick. Add in can’t argue with Nazis, they only know and respond to violence.
If you had the masses behind you they would vote in their best interest but you don’t. If you try to accomplish this stuff without the support of the masses you lack legitimacy and it becomes tyranny. The masses have the power to change things and it doesn’t need war for it. If you claim to speak or act in the interest of the masses without actually gaining their vote then you are actually putting your opinion of whats good for them above them.
You really need to read up on the history of American politics. You are a product of propaganda. Everything you are saying is entirely detached from reality.
Never have we as average people gotten rights, benefits, and good will from the wealthy. History is full of taking out owners of their houses and killing them or breaking their legs. Of burning down factories, of have a literal military engagement with protesting coal miners.
We have gotten those things from them, many times, when we used bricks and bullets to rip them from their cold dead hands.
If you say so it must be true. The guy basically comparing every rich person with a nazi and calling for violence against them. But no, I’m the brainwashed one. Man what am I doing on this platform. The election system in the US is fucked up tho, I’ll give you that. Your country voted Trump twice. How dumb can an electorate be? I’m european but have been a year in the US. The raw form of capitalism america employs is very problematic and not in the interest of the general population. Killing people until the system changes is not a societal movement. Thats still called terrorism. You guys have a constitution and a democracy that protects you. Your crooked government abuses the system but it can still be fixed. Killing CEOs won’t fix the root cause. I understand the term Class War in the US context a bit more, but it doesn’t need violence. You know who used violence? The Jan. 6th protestors. I bet the people on the side use similar arguments for their crooked ideology. From the outside I see this polarization and unwillingness to work with one another as the very breaking point of a country. The once oh so exceptional United States of America. If the violence leads to a civil war chances are the outcome won’t be better than what was. People need to reach across the aisle. MLK is the one who lead the mass movement for rights of black people not Black Panther. Its always very easy to tell the other side they are uninformed or uneducated when you run out of arguments. I hope and believe you guys can still salvage your democracy. If you take up arms and violence, the other side will always reciprocate, remember.
MLK was also an avowed socialist and spoke poorly of capitalism but they gloss over that in history. You sound like someone with enough privilege in their life that they haven’t had to learn the hard truths of what exactly it’s like to live in the USA. Especially if you’re a minority or other out groups. This country has always been hostile and killing people in those groups. Stonewall was a riot and damned if we don’t need another!
Quick question, which agency killed MLK?
And also lol, lmao even
" Killing people until the system changes is not a societal movement."
What the fuck do you think every one of America’s wars has been about? What were they doing in Vietnam, what did they do to every Arabic country they went into /have been going into?
No, seriously, read up on some actual fucking history before you try to speak of it with such objective confidence, you smug, classist, propaganda spreading fuck. Your school history book was filled with full on lies and made up bullshit, grow the fuck up, you are a god damned child.
ok russian plant.
Violence and murder is almost never the answer
It almost always is. That’s why most countries have a military.
Militaries are used as a matter of last resort normally. And its only a cause of bad diplomacy, if all else fails. Thats also why wars of aggression are frowned upon. Maybe not true for the US and their insane President but for every other place usually its only to defend. Murder isn’t defending. If not under very specific circumstances its right to be frowned upon
Oh! My mistake! You’re new to this planet and its indigenous species. They REALLY like war! As a matter of fact it drives most of its math and science.
Here, stick this in your ship’s AI and ask it to make a ratio between war and peace:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17449365-the-penguin-history-of-the-world
They even make entertainments of it!
None of this invalidates my last statement. Europe hasn’t had a war between EU members since it was founded. But it also has nothing to with my argument against using violent means in a half-working democracy when it comes to CEOs and individuals alike. And even in situation where wars are used I would say in most cases its not really a good answer since it comes at great costs
You say its not the answer then what is the answer? The people making the laws have failed us. Any form of peaceful protests dont work. People are suffering and being killed.
Violence is a last resort yes and brother we are out of all the other resorts unfortunately. Its not the people’s fault to resort to violence but rather the oppressors that give no other option so if you want to be mad at someone be mad at them.
Europe hasn’t had a war between EU members since it was founded.
That’s an odd choice. WWI and WWII started in Europe. What does the EU have to do with anything? Because you picked some arbitrary cutoff point that’s supposed to mean anything?
A lot of people will agree with the base sentiment “Violence is only justified when your life is threatened”.
Well, a huge number of people don’t really threaten in an obvious way by putting a gun in someone’s face. They will cut off people’s water, food, or air, or make such things prohibitively expensive to maintain. They will run legitimized “law enforcement strike operations”, but in effect, what they’re doing is from a state of peace, electing to murder people that have done them no harm.
Thankfully, or not, in 2025/2026, this stuff is a LOT more obvious than it was before. Politicians pointed out how recent initiatives would, provably, lead to thousands of deaths, and all of it was ignored with no counter-argument.
I agree with you about military being a matter of last resort. That’s the way it is for anyone sane, and doesn’t turn away the base point.
Tell that to the billioneirs who regularly make choices that cost peoples lives lol. These corrupt fucks can’t be voted out.
I think you’re wrong about being in the social majority… https://www.axios.com/2025/01/09/luigi-mangione-approval-poll-gen-z
But regardless, I’m not sure what alternative you’re left with when the people committing heinous acts take in profits instead of prison sentences. Especially for someone like Trump, who is actively making the world worse and more unsafe in a myriad of ways, it’s clear he will never receive justice, nor will he ever willingly leave office. How else do you see people no longer suffering his “leadership”? I mean, I’m still hoping he keels over from natural causes, but it’s still a wish for him to keel over.
UHC CEO is a different position than OpenAI CEO. I dont defend Luigi Magione personally, but Sam Altman isn’t a Healthcare CEO using shady business tricks and denying people healthcare which (which can end up killing them). Also in your poll, 45% isn’t the majority.
And Gen Z also isn’t representative for society in general. Young people often tend to have more extreme takes
Open AI? The company whos product has helped and encouraged multiple people (primarily teenagers) to commit suicide?
If putting the appropriate gaurdrails and safety systems in place to prevent this kind of output from your product is avoided because it eats too much into your profit margin i would say thats fairly sinister decision making.Ok, how about CEO of palantir?
Right! Facebook making a whole business model around exploitation of teenage girls’ body image issues pretty much proved the point to me that they’re here to eat our children.
They are putting guardrails down but the technology is statistical probability of tokens. The longer a conversation goes the more the technology goes off the path. I do think the companies should take some responsibility and compensate for incidents but killing the CEO doesn’t remove the technology and only adds one death. The teenager that killed themself doesn’t come back to life.
The CEO of Palantir has a fucked up world-view but he’s mostly building tools for the government. The demands for general privacy should be strengthened to the government. If police can actually research crimes faster and it helps them catch criminals there can be an argument for them. Doesn’t really make up for the lost privacy but such software exists and is bound to be developed, just depends who develops them and with which guidelines. Software for the military is nothing new. Their AI for picking targets to strike is ethically questionable even if humans give the final say. He could probably be considered legitimate military target by adversaries that are struck using his technology. In general weapon development or military advancements are a certain gray area. The US DoD is really overfunded tho. The US doesn’t need bases in the entire world to protect its citizens. 1 tn dollars a year is crazy. Imagine how much good you could do with even half of that. I don’t think killing him changes anything and its also a form of self-justice. I do not believe I am mandated to just go up to a man and kill them. Is Palantir an ethical company? Probably not. But I think he’s not a war-criminal by developing a software platform and having a questionable world-view. My cry for democracy is to use whats left of democracy to change things the right way. Thats how MLK won the people over. Thats how societal change is done properly.
So detached from reality. You love the “official narrative” so very much.
Its an ideal we need to strive for. Protect and fight for democracy or lose it. Once you fight disagreements with extrajudicial means the stability erodes for everyone. I don’t care if people call me idealist. If you follow the categorical imperative its pretty clear honestly. You guys just want it the (supposed) easy way. But thats not the proper way. And it also won’t be easy as with violence factions arise. I country in which violence is a normal means to resolve disagreement will arise. You know how Jan 6th rioters wanted to hang Pence? And actually killed officers in service? This type of crooked behavior will also become more common
You’re almost there. Fight for democracy. The Nazis are in charge now and they’re fundamentally dismantling our democratic institutions. These CEOs are instrumental in this dismantling, there’s no more peaceful protests that will reverse this course. We’ve fought Nazis before, we’ll do it again.
Idealism can go get fucked, we need reality based solutions. Again, you’re a god damned child.
Naw idr which one, but an ai ceo almost word for aord said they dont want to lose customers to suicide, but the fact that their model can be so open and frank is why its good.
As if mainstream platforms are bastions of constructive moderate takes? And yeah that’s one of the reasons democracy is important it’s much better than solving things through violence, but if you haven’t noticed democracy is getting gleefully eroded and some of these corporate types want it gone. I don’t believe in violence either but I’m not surprised by anyone’s comments here or anywhere else. And I’d still rather be on lemmy than a corporate platform because I think no corporation should be the invisible hand middleman for ‘the public sphere’
I’m on Lemmy since I love the idea of federated platforms and open source software. I have a strong distaste for big platforms and addictive algorithms and big tech ad stalking. Just sometimes this political one-sidedness makes it hard to tolerate. I block communities and instances that I personally find distasteful. I block ML for example. I am interested in tech tho which is why I’m here.
My take on AI is different than many on here too tho. I believe under right usage and circumstances AI can be useful. I especially like Open weight and self-hosted models. As long as you’re not trafficking or raping children or doing other disgusting acts I can just refuse to use their AI platform. Doesn’t mean they deserve death, threats or attacks.
I think AI can have its benefits for science, technology and mathematics but its output should be thoroughly scrutinized. That said the legislatures i’ve personally spoken with show 0 interest in establishing any regulation.
The concerns I have aside from an even greater loss in everyone’s critical thinking and attention span stem from mass surveillance which the big CEOs are actively promoting.
I believe these people aim to cause at minimum the destruction of the middle class and seek to enshrine permanent control over human society as a hole.
They built bunkers for a reason, these are crimes against humanity and they should fear backlash because of the harm they are actively causing.
That said, i’m fine to round em up and send them to jail, or heck we can put em on one of Musks rocket and they can fuck off to Mars.
Yeah these people don’t care about the harm they’re causing or just ignore it. I feel the same way I’m down for just throwing them in jail or something I don’t need physical violence enacted on them. They’re completely careless and promote the erosion of freedom and personal liberty while hiding behind culture war nonsense and (at least in US) say they are the ones preserving it. It’s the hypocrisy that infuriates me mostly.
Lemmy doesn’t exactly have the most mentally stable of people here. It’s a glorified mental asylum.
Haha lmao I know right. I knew I would be comment-bombed and downvoted for this. Its just annoying since I want lemmy and the fediverse to go to a more general in public. I mostly avoid politics on lemmy but this is a tech community. I quit most traditional social media and reddit since I like the idea of the fediverse a lot and open-source software in general as well as self-hosting. I think the algorithms and ad targetting is a big issue for me on there. Its just when I see threads like these I try to apply at least one voice of reason. So others know this is not the supposed normal (unless on lemmy of course). Just like this platform has a tankie problem.
This has actually been happening since Luigi. Especially tech CEOs. The companies actually started paying for them.
I first ran into it in a class a couple years ago, the dude running was talking about how our group was the first group of normies he’d seen. It was all silicon Valley C staff before, every one had a dude standing directly behind them who wouldn’t talk. We’re only hearing about it now, but they’ve been creating a new personal guard industry since the united Healthcare ceo got it.
Huh that guy has armed guards. He must be important. Seems like a good target.
The companies actually started paying for them.
Why am I not surprised.
Hot take: I believe most CEOs are secretely excited by having their own, paid-for bodyguards now.
Why do people go after the execs when the board of directors is the ones making the shitty decisions?
The news never talks about boards, so it’s not really in most people’s minds. The majority of people probably think of the CEO as the king.
You mean they are just following orders?
Yes, and lest you present that as some kind of “gotcha,” the Gestapo didn’t disappear until the Nazis were removed from power, because they were the ones giving the orders. This isn’t about guilt, it’s about actually achieving something.
Because the executives are carrying them out (or instructing others in carrying them out) and thus complicit. By rights, they should be objecting to those decisions and refusing to do (or order) unethical or unconscionable things.
Ok, let’s say a ceo objects to the boards instructions. They’ll fire that CEO and hire another one that’ll listen. The problem persists.
Then it would be the new CEO’s duty to likewise object to unethical instructions.
Mind, I’m not saying the board shouldn’t be held responsible. I’m saying the CEO is still complicit, even if he’s “just following orders”.
Because the majority of share holders making those decisions are executives in their own right.
many execs are either on, heavily influence, or will become a part of the board.
when killing a snake you can’t just cut off the head, you have to bury it as well.
Cut the head, burn the neck. Just like what Old Man Herc did.
How “brilliant” do you have to be to think this is a better alternative than to stop doing things that make you think people are going to Luigi you?
Yeah but they would have to give up ruling the world and ruining your life for fun. And by spending a peanut negligible amount of money, they can still shield themselves from consequences? What would you do if you too were an overrich narcissist sadistic sociopath??
Have to realize they got high on the “we’re the skilled, job creators” bullshit and truly believe it now.
Stopping doing those things would mean stopping doing capitalism, and these people would rather we all die than that.
Remember what the Praetorian Guards would do when they demanded a pay raise and didn’t get one.
Good.
Tech Execs only have to be unlucky once.
Yeah, and for the type of thing that Luigi did, the deed would already be done and the CEO would still catch a couple. Unless the guards act like human shields lol
They should be afraid. Luigi was just.
Wrong, murder and violence isn’t the answer in a democracy. They work on LLMs, not on skinning children to the bone.
Wrong. Read the Epstein files.
Violence is a useful tool. What Luigi did was just. When reason, negotiation, a plea for empathy or sympathy fails and exploitation continues, violence is the answer.
Wrong, murder and violence isn’t the answer in a democracy.
You think you’re in a democracy?
Cute…They work on LLMs, not on skinning children to the bone.
It requires a certain type of ignorance to not see how evil the likes of peter Thiel are.
In addition to how his products are literally killing children: He’s basically part of MAGA, actively destroying the USA. He has expressed horrid views over time, not the worst of which is that he doesn’t believe in democracy.
So yeah, removing people like him is the answer, if we want to get back to a functioning State of Law. And since the US government is in cahoots with them, there’s not going to be a just trial. So what else to do?
But we’re in a plutocracy, not a democracy.
“They only give compute services to the nazis, it’s not like they’re the ones dropping bombs on schools just becuase they designed the clanker that told them to”
https://izri.online/blog/pentagon-grok-military-strikes-iran-june-2026
Where is this democracy you speak of? Did you vote for your tax dollars to pay these companies to kill innocent kids for the crime of being born into the worst apartheid we’ve seen since the 40s?
Sure but do we live in a true democracy, when the law protects the elite and not the many?
A functional democracy sounds like a cool idea. But we don’t have one. So if we can’t have it I guess I will laugh when billionaires die instead.
isnt a part of the epstein files basically about skinning children to the bone
No. But there’s a conspiracy tale claiming Dems are pedovores, and I’m sure believers of that see it in the Epstein files too.
Just a re-hashing of the age-old blood libel conspiracy narrative.
The tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants alike. These fuckwits are most certainly tyrants per my cultures definition using bribery, intimidation, and legal bullfuckery to build their stupid AI data centers. Oh also quite a few of them want to set up a tachno fascist dictatorship. So in summary hang em high and let the ravens feast apon their gallow corpses.
