To add to this, several factors can cause birth control to fail, including being overweight (doctors basically never bother to prescribe an increased dosage, and insurance generally won’t cover it anyways), mixing with certain other medications/supplements, eating a lot of grapefruit, etc.

Hell, pretty sure alcohol fucks with it too.

Yes. There’s a lot of user errors with condoms.

                Edit:

Note that the failure rates are for the average use of the method. Consistent and correct use may further decrease your chances. For specific hormonal birth control methods, the risk of pregnancy for correct use should be listed in the instructions/details.

Why so many people forget that like anything, birth control stuff can fail?

Why so many people forget that people (and by people i don’t mean women) can deceive? And when deception is “for a good cause”, it’s so easy to justify.

yes, birth control can fail. And, in this case twice but people… they never lie 😋

Are you aware of how fucking finicky birth control is? If you’re on the pill you have to take it at the exact same time every day and if you miss that time by just an hour it’s not effective for the next entire week. So don’t ever get busy and forget for an hour, or be unable to get to your pills because something else needed your time and pulled you away, or get sick and have to choose between delaying taking it because you’re nauseated and might throw them up or actually throwing it up ending up missing that day. If you go on antibiotics it stops working. There’s an entire list of other medications that interfere with it but doctors never bother to tell you when they prescribe them to you. A lot of birth control doesn’t work if you are over 165 pounds, which they don’t tell you, oh and by the way a fun side effect of birth control is that it can make you gain weight at a rate that should be scientifically impossible.

But yes, let’s blame the woman, of course she’s just being a deceitful bitch.

I challenge you to eat a piece of candy or do some small task every single day at the exact same time for the next 30 years of your life and never ever forget or fuck up or delay it by over an hour and then come back and explain how easy it is. Even setting an alarm, even planning your life around “I HAVE to take my pill at this time” it’s damn near impossible because life happens.

now that you threw that word salad at me, you convinced me that failure rate of birth control is higher than the rate of deception.
              Thank you too. Who’s next?

Birth control isn’t the responsibility of women alone. Men too deceive their partners.
My comments are not misogynist, they are misanthrope. But i truthfully love you for writing that brick and wasting your time 🙃

It’s more likely that the birth control failed is the only point that was being made.

              thank you very much.
I too am a fan of likelihoods
