Cant wait to see this on the front page of the NYT with an article about raciat Chinese people are
They are the most racist people lol come spend time in Vancouver
hhhhh is like hahahah in chinese btw.
So they aren’t chatting with Darth Vader? ☹️
Thanks, I read it like hhhhhng which is… different.
Brazilians write kkkkkkkk which confused me a lot
I think Thailand is 55555
The Spanish use jajajajaja afaik
As a German, this always confuses me
jajajajaja angrily nods head
I’m American who grew up in Florida with a mother who grew up in Puerto Rico, with tons of Spanish exposure, and I still read that as “yah yah yah yah yah”
j is spoken similar to an h in Spanish. Juan is basically almost Huan.
Koreans use ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ (hhhhh) and ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ (kkkkk). They also put ~~~~~ everywhere, apparently that makes things less serious.
In Japan they’ll use either 笑笑笑 or wwww. Sometimes you see ハハハ which is a transliteration of hahaha.
Or there is the classic 草
It’s due to how the letter is spelled in brazilian portuguese, it more of a ‘kah’ sound, like a cackle.
k
Thanks for this. Whenever I type that sound, it’s intended as like an exasperated sigh
I read it as hiss, but with a slack jaw and staring blankly ahead, like a zombie
哈哈哈哈哈哈 is laughter in 汉语, those messages are in 英语
“Sure. Send me 10,000¥ and I’ll teach you first lesson.”
I live in a pretty international place, and when i was still on bumble, this kinda tracks. Every most chinese person i talked to, mainly talked business. The secone tging they askes was pretty much always what your job is and if it’s a good job. Sometimea the racism as well
Oof, you really aughta give that a spell check once over my friend. It’s on the edge of unintelligible.
aughta
Ought to.
I understood what they meant in any case.
Yep, I definitely didn’t do that on purpose. You’re right.
I actually had a hard time reading their comment. Maybe it’s because I was just waking up, but it’s generally a good idea to at least read what you’ve typed once before hitting submit.
Edit: also you’re wrong. https://www.oed.com/dictionary/oughta_v?tl=true This word has been in use with this spelling since 1840. Language is fluid, Words are defined be how they are used, not the other way around.
I fully support oughta, that’s clearly a deliberate choice and not a mistake.

Askes
I didnt notice any spelling mistakes until i got to sometimea, but i am dyslexic :^)
lol yall are reading in phonics or something? Reading a syllable at a time?
I tend to read entire words at a time, and doing that your brain only really checks the first letter, last letter, and that most of the rest of the letters are actually there. That can be tolerant of mistakes like “raeding” or even “hte” but unexpected words or misspellings caused by touch screen keyboards make you stop and revert back to other, slower methods.
Be a pedant about your own spelling first.
I always find it odd how people take this kinda thing as an insult. “I can’t read what you wrote because it has too many errors” is, like, one of the first things you encounter when learning to write. It’s just a simple statement of fact. Cool it.
Hypocrisy is the second thing you encounter.
Okay? Everyone should proofread their stuff. Why does it matter If the person who says so makes a typo? They should proofread too. Proofread your stuff, or accept that people might not understand what you’re trying to say when you don’t.
In the wise words of Chris Hannah: I’ll call you on your shit, please call me on mine.
Yeah I don’t get it. I didn’t call them stupid. It’s not that they didn’t know how to spell anything, they clearly just mistyped a decent number of letters. It just needed a quick proofread.
I wasn’t trying to be pedantic I legitimately had a hard time reading that.
Isn’t philo-Semitism awesome?
It really is. “You’re so smart and know how to make lots of money. You must be the reason I don’t have lots of money. I want to kill you.”
sorry, best i can do is genocide;-)
How fucking hard is it to understand that not all Jewish people are pro-genocide zionists?
Get it through your thick skull.
I see OPs insane downvotes so to also get in on some of that action, it’s statistically a much higher chance that a non religious is a zionist lol.
sorry, i thought it’s memes community and we’re joking here, maybe get that stick out of your ass? I’m perfectly aware that not every Jew is pro-genocide, just like not every Jew is a business man with money (like on the picture), i also differentiate between Jews and Zionists, like the guy in the other comment, i’m pro Palestine but i also follow some Hasidic Jews online, so i’m perfectly aware Jews are a diverse group of people with multiple world views
oh wow, a wild Schrödinger’s Douchebag!
If that’s your idea of a joke you have a shit sense of humor but we all know you weren’t joking and you’re a cockroach scurrying away with your lame joke defence.
OP joke was from the same category.
The OP is about a crazy rando in the wild making the “joke”, not making the joke themselves.
He reposted it in this sub. What was the purpose if not for amusement?
Not amusement at the idea that all Jews are good at making money. Amusement at the idea that someone would say that on a dating app.
In the case of the parent comment here, the amusement is supposed to come directly from the stereotype.
It’s a matter of first person vs third person perspective. “Haha I’m racist” vs “Check out this racist over here.”
OP has no joke, it’s a picture of a picture
… Which is posted as a joke (considering theme of the sub)
yeah, that’s what i’m trying to say, but guess there are still some things you shouldn’t joke about, chas v’sholom
cockroach scurrying away with your lame joke defence.
LOL🤣
Careful guys, he’s getting mad. Might start genociding. You know the type.
There it is
Jew
Jew
Jews
Jews
Jews
Say the whole word once.
Say the whole word once.
…Jewy?
Then you have to tack on “person” to each instance, adding 3 syllables each time. That would have been 15 extra syllables for no reason.
Did I say every time? Or did I say once?
You’re right, you said once. So just 3 extra syllables for no reason. It’s not like they were saying “The Jews”.
It’s not for no reason, Kevin.
Ppl just replaced “Jew” with “Zionist”, Antisemitism just got rebranded.
Mind you, this has been actively promoted by Israel and several major NGOs who have been arguing (incorrectly) for decades that Israel and Judaism are essentially identical.
That doesn’t make it true but it’s still a meme (in the sociological sense) that has been well established for quite some time.
Antisemitism is as old as time and it’s getting a push from several sides. I defend none of the players in the middle east, antisemitism has gotten an enormous boost through social media (here on lemmy too.) the only effect is that as a normal jewish person you get confronted even more with all types of hate and prejudice.
Yes, absolutely. Antisemitism is pretty much the classical case for an entire group of people getting lumped together, othered, and loaded with all sorts of negative stereotypes that are then used as justification for actions against them.
The point I wanted to contribute is that the state of Israel and its various advocacy groups have contributed significantly to this by continually arguing in bad faith that any criticism of their behavior is equivalent to antisemitism. This has established in the public conscience the incorrect notion that Israel represents all jews and that their actions reflect upon all of them.
That was bad enough when Israel was locked in a morally complex struggle with the Palestinians. Plenty of shit happened then that many jews didn’t agree with and weren’t happy to be associated with via Israel’s rhetoric. But now the conflict has escalated to a point where Israel’s behavior goes well past any notion of acceptability.
And the rhetoric that any criticism of this is antisemitic persists. Advocacy groups spend big money to convince the world that opposing the genocide in Gaza is equivalent to hating jews. Combine that with the onslaught of right-wing propaganda on social media and yeah, it’s no wonder antisemitism is on the rise.
Antisemitism is as old as time
Technically only as old as Jews.
Genocide denying Hasbarist or just ignorant?
Because there’s more Evangelical Christian Zionists than Jewish Zionists, and many if not most prominent Anti-Zionists are Jewish people themselves.
For the vast majority of people, no they didn’t.
That is true, but that is not at all what I got from this comment. The context in the meme is someone assuming a jewish steroetype. The comment was contuing that line of false assumptions and connecting it to current affairs. The joke being that mainstream (right wing) media is often replacing “jew” with “zionist” like it’s the most normal thing inthe world, while in fact it is not, as you and others have pointed out. The current affair in question is obviously the war in israel.
Excuse me Meister, zat is our domain, ja?
Cheap joke, but I’ll allow it.
Yeah, I though it was fun. Apparently only favorable stereotypes are allowed to be shitposted? Eh.

Netanyahu 🤝 you
Agreeing with Hitler on the topic of Jewish people

Literally Japan.
China is literally Japan?
Who’s being bigoted now? 🤦🏻😄
Not like that, literally Japan.
You missed the wildest part:
The idea was partly based on the acceptance of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as being a genuine document by at least part of the Japanese leadership - but rather than arousing hatred of Jews, the intended effect of the Protocols, they actually caused the Japanese to consider the Jews as powerful potential allies for Japan.
Yeah, that’s amazing. I never considered the idea that some antisemites make up a fake document to turn people against Jews for being secretly powerful and plotting an international domination conspiracy, and some instead go “powerful you say…? I want them on my side”.

Spain did it first
Yes. Source
