Are people complaining about the actual submitted content in the comics or just about the author’s personal views? I mean, if it’s the content in the comics, I…guess I could understand having a !sexycomics@lemmy.world or something if some people consider the above to have too much skin — I don’t think I’d call it NSFW. It doesn’t bother me, personally.
I mean, the community rules do explicitly permit NSFW comics (it does say that they should be flagged NSFW, which this isn’t).
Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
I just…I kinda have a hard time looking at that and saying that someone would get in trouble over viewing it at work, and in any event, I don’t think that “sexed up” is inappropriate, given the rules that the mods have written; they’re clearly fine with lewd material.
From what I’ve seen, the series constantly has fan service, but I must say that I really don’t hold with trying to drive the guy off for posting them.
That being said, like I said, if there are enough people who enjoy them and enough people who are upset about them, maybe doing a new community would make sense.
well yeah, i’m fine with raunchy too, that’s not the problem. it’s shit like this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this…
He sometimes veers into trans hates and misogynistic humor. It’s not really about the sexy drawings.
Personally, I don’t think we should platform authors that dip their feet in hate since it does drive traffic to their website.
The content that is posted here from him is mostly boring and trite, so there’s not much lost even if the specific comic itself isn’t breaking any rules. It feels like an easy choice to make, even more so when it seems the poster just shares it to cause drama. Petty behavior and all.
yeah there’s been links in the other threads on this comm. personally i went through some of his comics on his site and there is 1) a lot of t’n’a (which i’m all for tbh, it just gets old if it’s shown as “normalcy”) and 2) every type of character the author doesn’t like (feminists, models, vegans, specifically male homosexuals…) are drawn like weird charicatures.
Did I miss some memo or something? Are we mad at this style of comic right now for some reason?
I’ve got my
pitchforkdownvote ready, just give me a good reason 👍I honestly don’t see what’s wrong with this particular comic. It’s just a silly comic about a common problem with “free” games.
felix posts only comics from this author, who seems to have some rather unsavoury opinions on women and minorities.

well, sometimes. his views definitely bleed through. flipping through 20-30 pages on his site was enough for me to get the picture.

The problem isn’t this comic, it’s the transphobic and misogynistic content in the artist’s other comics people have a problem with.
They do?
