Edit: For context, @db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com discovered that the developer of Tesseract had discretely banned numerous instances and disguised it as a server error. This included more heavily leftist instances, but also blahaj.zone. More recently, it was discovered that they had also been suppressing individual users, phrases, and communities that criticize power tripping on fedi.

Needless to say, I implore non blahaj.zone users to drop the Tesseract client (support for the client has already been dropped for blahaj). So called “liberals” like this who call out “extremism on both sides” are an insult to the values they claim to be upholding.

Good news, they namedropped you in their explanation comment:

Both Ada and CupcakeZealot (Jessica I think?) continuously look the other way when any blahaj users call for violence. Admins can see when reports are resolved, by whom, and can check the actions in the modlog. I do not tolerate advocacy of violence in any shape or form and refuse to allow my project to be used by people who endorse that kind of behavior. Most instances at least deal with it on a superficial level, but Blahaj refuses to. This indicates, at minimum, tacit endorsement.

I am kinda surprised I am not on there. But then again, the users that would want me on the list would be way more mad about me not being on it, so it’s kinda win-win for me.

Let me see if I get it.

Someone maakes a Lemmy client, which function is just to interact with fediverse side if lemmy, then the developers just silently blocks everything they don’t like, probably because it’s too woke or something like that.

Why even development a client to begin with??

Given their response to this controversy, they could only justify continued work on the project by “trying to foster a less toxic fediverse” or something like that. They wanted to shape the fediverse to fit their view of what it should be without the input of the users or admins.

Wait, I just learned that the original Tesseract dev, paulo-roger, left the project many years ago. Here’s the reason he gave:

I’m tired of dealing with the arrogant, tone-deaf Lemmy developers and their utter disdain for moderators and anyone else working within the ecosystem. To that end, development of and support for Tesseract for Lemmy has ceased.

Hmm, I wonder who paulo-roger was talking about 💀💀
(I’ve mistook who paulo-roger was talking about… Thanks, TotallynotJessica!)

Oooooh, that makes so much more sense! I thought he was talking about Lemmy app developers when he wrote “Lemmy developers”, because I forgot that Lemmy itself is maintained by developers… 🤦 Thanks!

The actual adminowner of my instance took time out of their very very busy day to present me personally with a medal for my inclusion. I shall wear it with Pride

      Oh come on!

What did you do to get in that list?

Update, grep is case sensitive. I’m still not on the list, but it’s strange that a single user is both mentioned by instance and a general regex.

@DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works what did you do to deserve such an honor?

I really don’t know. It’s termux on android, and I haven’t used it that much before, so it’s default settings I guess. But it beat getting up and finding my laptop.

most terminal fonts are very careful to distinguish them. commonly i uses an extra half-serif up top and l a tail, making it look a bit like a backwards j.
