For some reason, that last panels really sends me.
I wish edibles had any effect on me. Both my SO and I get nothing off homemade or store bought.
We once made some peanut butter cookies from a High Times recipe that we thought we made wrong, my mother tried one and was out of it for the rest of the day.
I think you may be doing something wrong, I would be curious what store bought kind you tried too. It’s very easy to mess up making it ingestible, you can’t just eat cannabis flower or even raw THC oil, it has no effect ingested unless it undergoes a chemical process, such as being extracted into fat/oil/butter with heat, but not so hot the THC breaks down. Some cheap store brands also are weaker than the label and count on people being suggestible.
I say this because if it effects you inhaled, then it’s the same chemical in your blood. It just takes up to an hour to work ingested, sometimes people give up waiting on it and go to bed and miss the effect.
All that said, ingested high feels different than inhaled usually, unless you’re using a strong tincture, that stuff can knock you on your ass and your family will find you laying on the floor as you travel through space.
Same. My sister helped my partner and I make some edibles with a bunch of trim we had saved. She had been smoking heavier than me for twice as long, and got absolutely smuckered by these edibles. We, however, were slamming dabs alongside the edibles because they weren’t doing shit
I’m the opposite here. I have a decent tolerance for smoking or vaping, but edibles send me. Even small ones, 5mg and I’m toasty, 10mg and I’ve punched out for the day.
I have this too. It’s a specific enzyme we have that neutralizes most of the fun.
Sounds like you just need to take more in order to overcome the enzyme 🤓
“The enrichment center is required to remind you: You will be baked, and then there will be cake”
I once showed my girlfriend how to make edibles. I told her to not lick the bowl or the spoon. I still don’t know what she thought why i said it, but she proceeded to lick it anyway. She was so plastered that she couldn’t hold herself on the sofa.
Some lessons we just have to learn for ourselves.
Sometimes we need to learn multiple times to make sure it was just a one time fluke
Sometimes we learn the wrong lesson. Like that licking the spoon is fun as fuck and a great way to have a chill afternoon.
Me trying salvia once a year in my late teens/early 20s.
“Surely it wasn’t as bad as I remember”
I was always wrong.
And if you’re writing down what you learn, it’s science!
If this is about cannabis this is bullshit, the THC needs to be warmed to be activated.
It has near zero effect without being activated.
There’s a reason you either smoke it or bake it.OK, now I get it, the first frame is preheated cannabis in butter.
Umm… it has to be decarbed BEFORE baking. Baking isn’t long enough to decarb it.
I was about to say that this wasn’t true but then I recall my method for butter takes an hour boiling in water at 100c
OK, it used to be, but methods have apparently changed.
No… it’s always had to be decarbed, do you think cannabis just randomly mutated or something?
Putting it in the oven helps decarb it.
We used to make what we called firecrackers.
Crackers, cover them in peanut butter, grind weed over it, put another peanut butter covered cracker on top and bake them.
They did they job just fine and we didn’t have to fuck with making butter.
You’d end up eating weed, but we were kids so whatever.
I completely forgot about firecrackers 🤣.
Mmm gritty burnt tasting peanut butter.
I moved from that to making small batches of butter and using that to make hot chocolate (“pot chocolate”, of course).
An hour+ in the oven seems to decarb just fine for brownies. They hit hard.
Decarbing in the brownies will be inconsistent.
Since the recipe has water, the interior of the brownie won’t exceed 212. The decarb time at that temp is around 2-4 hours.
The edges that dry out first may exceed 300F and the decarb process finishes in around 5-7m then the THC will start to degrade.
For brownies, decarb during the butter production. Look up a chart, but it’ll take about 2-4 hours at boiling. Then cook the brownies on a low temp (like 315) to ensure that it cooks evenly without drying out the corners.
If you have fancy baking equipment, a water bath or collared cake pan will protect the edges from overcooking.
It’s extremely dependent on temperature. At 110°C it only takes about 30 minutes, at 70°C it takes a full 24 hours.
I believe in the “olden days” people used plant trimming to make butter after harvest and not flower.
No measuring, no decarbing just a lot Of trimmings. With what we know now it was probably very inefficient but just so much it did the trick.
That’s fair, those leafs have the most exposure to light and would be pretty naturally decarbed as well, but as you said, trim and shake take ALOT since the THC in sugar leafs is like 1%.
Iirc, an oz of trim is like a g or 2 max of good flower.
No not randomly, but cannabis today is different and way stronger than it used to be. Because new strains are continuously selected.
So if it’s stronger, you would actually get higher without decarbing it.
Not decarbing weak weed, will give you no affect.
Longish answer, some THC naturally decarb from light and other factors, so stronger weed, has more naturally decarbed THC and CBN in it.
So now you acknowledge that yes it has actually mutated, and no it is not random.
Thanks.

One lick and you get debilitated? Weak.
Or strong.
Reminds me of that classical paradox - “Can God bake a batch of brownies that’s so strong he can’t stay awake?”
Ah yes, that was Aristotle or Marley, one of the greats
I have wondered for personal reasons what the best way is to store thc for later consumption?
The easiest way is to bind it to a fat, like making canabutter.
Alcohol works too, but THCs solubility is lower in alcohol so you’ll need more volume.
Keep away from light and in a cool place and it’ll keep for years.
