Apparently there’s a video of him reacting to it in real time.

Which is even funnier that he couldn’t have been bothered to watch whatever this Alt-Halftime show was.

Conservatives have cried about the half time show for most of my life. I kinda feel like that’s all they do is bitch about how the world isn’t made for specifically them. Don’t ever give them what they want! They’ll just move on to the next thing to bitch about.

It’s hilarious to me that the MAGA halftime show had lower production quality than Charlie Kirk’s funeral.

The fact that nobody watched the damned thing but everyone seems to want to talk about it should say something about the state of American politics.

      Stop

      Giving

      Them

      Oxygen

If the media would stop giving creeps airtime (outside of ridicule), they’d fade into obscurity. But instead we get to “hear both sides of the story” when one side is just spouting nonsense and lies.

I crave online validation too so I just repost memes, firstpost obvious takes, and post things that make me say “Neat” to the community I created for that express purpose.

I’m going to talk about it but only as a reference point for how unpopular and sad the right actually is. If rating were votes, they wouldn’t even be top 3rd party.

In the modern era they refer to the “salad bowl” rather than the “melting pot” because “melting pot” implies cultural erasure during integration, but “salad bowl” combines while maintaining individual unique characteristics.

This started to be a thing when I was in grade school and I definitely thought it was pretty silly. I remember my 7th grade history teacher not knowing how to respond when I asked if the salad bowl included the native Americans whose culture the US tried to destroy.

As a serial immigrant I don’t particularly care what they call a multicultural society as long as they accept people who were not born there into it.

Are they still parading Kirk’s likeness? This goes beyond just “sad.” This is straight-up pitiful. Nobody else has even the baseline for being recognizable for them.

As a Hispanic American, I really wish I could have understood what he was saying.

I don’t know enough Spanish to understand him, and the English subtitles didn’t help because it was just the Spanish lyrics spelled only with the English alphabet. They couldn’t have translated the subtitles? Its not like they didn’t know what he was going to sing, they practice halftime shows before the game. 77% of Americans only know English and only ~14% know Spanish as of 2024, so this was a superbowl halftime show that only ~14% of the country could understand.

Also, side note, this show kinda sucked for the people that paid for actual tickets since much of it was in those tall grass walls/designed for the camera. In the past, the shows were more like a stage concert, which was better for the people actually at the arena, but this superbowl was like a double whammy for people that paid 10k for the nosebleeds: a horrendously boring game and a halftime show designed for the people watching at home.

Spanish lyrics spelled only with the English alphabet

That would be the Latin alphabet, which Spanish also uses.

The Spanish alphabet also has characters which the English alphabet does not use, such as ñ.

While both derive from the Latin alphabet, they both have different character sets, and I thus refer to them separately. Just like how Russian and Ukrainian both derive from the Cyrillic alphabet, but they do not use all the same characters.
