The difference being that an ad is trying to sway you to buy a product, but a credit or signature on art is “here’s who created this thing THAT YOU ARE ALREADY EXPERIENCING”.

I don’t know why they can’t distinguish between those.

That’s the most deranged take on ads I’ve ever heard. Sure, fuck the billion dollar companies and their ads. Artists? Dude what the fuck, you’re stealing they’re work and taking active steps to remove the artist’s name. Nobody is gaining anything on this, the artist looses, and OP looses both time and fucking respect. What the hell is wrong with that person.

Seems evil enough to me, if they’re doing it purpoesly why hasn’t a mod or someone told em to knock it off and to start their own instance with their bs?

Well that explains the recent push to not remove attributions instead of just requiring them. Must have missed that post because of the down vote threshold.

      What a tool.

Thanks. That’s quite the extreme take, I get not wanting a crappy watermark across the whole comic. But a subtle signature, or small panel with their name should be fine.

If they erase social links, that’s still crappy but more understandable.

If they really believe the image it self shouldn’t have a credit, then they should put the credit in the post description. They could use a spoiler, so it’s up the individual if they want to be “advertised” to.

      Artist Credit
