Gnome: GSpot. It doesn’t actually exist (GNOME devs though there was no use case for it)
laughs in libsexy
I only use it with Linux read by Gilbert Gottfried
I’ve found the clitoris.
You might wanna tell the guy who made it, cause I don’t think he has yet.
Searched everywhere and can’t find the download. Does anyone have a link for the latest klitoris? I can’t locate it and my wife is getting pissed.
the mascot is klitreya who has one too many K shaped appendages kinda like the kde lizard
We need a command line interface named Toris. CLI Toris
I’m a dev. I develop little prototypes and things with Rust. I often create a new repository and don’t give the project a name, until I’ve coded enough of it that I know where it’s going.
A few years back, the makers of the programming language Rust started punishing people for prepending
rust-before the names of their tools and apps. They recommended that people append-rsto the end.The combination of these two things caused me to end up with a whole bunch of repositories named something like
cli-rsorclitool-rs, both of which I’d just pronounce asclitoris.
Gonna make a TUI music player and call it D-Bussy
Hey, I finger the klitoris of my thinkpad all the time
Huh, I thought I was fingering the nipple this whole time
It’s pink, nubby, and you finger it. That doesn’t seem like a nipple to me ;)
Okay, fineeee. I’ll tongue it.
Are you suggesting there is something wrong with any of these names:
- gimp
- finger
- john the ripper
- libcaca
- toilet
- fsck
Also, in Italian “sudo” means “I sweat”.
sudo nanomeans “I sweat, dwarf”
Also bitchx
Man, I remember laughing like a school boy when I first heard of the “finger” util in college, lol.
Also
finger \! && exitunzip, strip, touch, finger, grep, mount, fsck, more, yes, fsck, fsck, fsck, umount, sleep
man
every Command Line Interface Tool
(not Linux but there are special printers for clothing called DTF’s )
man man
jq, ed

Don’t forget
fuckUgh, “gimp”? Seriously?
And the name isn’t great either.
Green is my pepper.
You’re right. And it would be so simple to just drop the G and make it Image Manipulation Program. They could even use the same impish logo!
They could, but they never will though. Chiefly because someone asked them to and, after stamping their feet like Veruca Salt, the devs have resolved to never ever stop pouting about it.
I like how developers are not shying away from possibility of them having foot fetish (foot terminal, gnome logo being a foot)
The foot is actually symbolic for the devs stepping all over you with their opinionated design and no choices
Ah so BDSM then /s
No just BSD
BSDMobile?
Oh. Plenty, they just don’t fuck with ‘consent’.
I avoided Gnome for exactly that reason for years but the shell extensions for gnome have improved a lot and it’s pretty flexible now. If you don’t mind depending on the addin authors maintaining your favorites.Dash to panel or dock is virtually a whole different UI.

KDE’s tool to configure an IntelliPoint™ device.
Its called a cat-tongue. Everyone that refers to it as anything else is wrong

You mean ClitMouse
I’ve never heard the left 2 ones used IRL tbh
I have but I’m old and clearly remember when it came out.
It’s the Command Nubbin’
Can’t find the app guys. Where is it? Bruh. Help me someone, my girlfriend is coming home and I don’t want to get mocked for the same thing two days in a row.
Its not an app, your file system wouldn’t work without it.

I can never find that program…
i think PCSX2 is the maddest i’ve ever been over a name. i’ve been using it for YEARS and have to double check the spelling every single time i type it.
Don’t recall if it had a Linux port, but anyone remembers Nesticle?
RPCS3 is similarly awkward to read and spell.
And ncmpcpp, which makes sense as it’s about 2 or 3 different forks from the original so the name got increasingly out of hand.
You mean RCPSX3? Or 4, the scam?
What happened with 4? I didn’t even know it existed until just now.
It doesn’t exist. Well, PCSX4 doesn’t, RPCS4 was a private project some years ago:
RPCS4 was a private project being worked on by one of the original developers of RPCS3, DH. Little is known about the project at the time, but we do know that it was expected to run on Unix-likes and can boot PS4 games without graphics
https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/PlayStation_4_emulators footnote 2
PCSX4 was just malware/adware or similar if I recall correctly. It came into being long before PS4 emulation reached anything remotely resembling the concept of “playable”.
I hear you. The one that always gets me is PPSSPP. Every time I type it I miss out a letter and have to go back and fix it.
Is that a command to summon the cats? PPSSPP PPSSPP
I memorized it as “PSP, but doubled”
Somehow, I perfectly remember ncmpcpp (what does any of that even mean? something with C++ I guess?) but struggle with lighttpd (light+httd+daemon).
NCurses, Media Player Client, c Plus Plus
I keep searching “RPCS2” and wondering why it doesn’t show up
seems easy to remember for me
dyslexia may be a factor
Yeah, its a fun one, but it does have a logical reason.
PSX was the codename for the PS1, and what the internet community latched on to, especially after the PS2 came out and there needed to be clarity on which they were referring to.
One of the early PSX PC emulators decided to name themselves PCSX as an amalgamation of PC and PSX.
PCSX2’s team wanted to make a PS2 emulator on par with/inspired by (and maybe forked off of?) the PS1 emulator and decided to continue the naming convention.
And now we have the dislexia-unfriendly PCSX2 name.
Y’all remember the PSX emu Bleem! ? You could buy it commercially as a physical disk from the shelves of a store? I have no idea how they got away with it but that seems unthinkable these days.
I feel like, based on the interface, they just took PCSX, swapped the splash screen, and somehow distributed it commercially, along with even running TV ads. They must’ve been sued into oblivion by Sony.
Personally, I wasn’t allowed to own a computer until well after Bleem! went out of business (from running out of money for legal defence against sony).
That being said, looking at wikipedia, Bleem! started first, so PCSX was the one that stole the look and feel of Bleem!
PC sex too. That’s how I read it.
I didn’t even know people read it. My eyes just glazed over the letters like it’s a picture lol.
ah dammit, that’s actually compelling reasoning! lmao
Then it should PCPSX or PSXPC, but the PCSX trips me up so hard. I hate it so much
Maybe, but it is meant as a portmanteau, and not just two abbreviations stuck together.
Like… if the National Aeronautics and Space Administration made a big light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation device, and decided to call it the NASER instead of NASALASER.
happens
does anyone have the repo? I can’t find it
Inquiring minds must know
