Looks like people are doing the same thing to the handicapped spot behind it. The locals are chaotic and have no gods.
If I was a minimum wage worker and had to work 30 minutes more at night putting those shopping carts in their place, I would be annoyed until I get home but then be fine with it.
I will judge you if you don’t return your shopping cart to the proper place. This seems to be a proper place.
“Our business has SO MUCH CRIME INSIDE that the police have special parking” is not a message that makes me want to come inside.
Wal-Mart was a huge generator of calls for service in my patrol area, so much so that our county government had hash things out over multiple meetings and eventually write an MOU with them to stop calling us over $20 shoplifting cases.
I’m doing my part!
It’s 99% shoplifting. But the police in my area don’t use those parking spots anyway, they always park in the fire lane.
Still, they’re having to call the police so frequently that this parking space made sense to someone. Maybe there’s something about their store that needs to change. If a strip club was having to call the police every single day, they’d probably shut the place down.
Wal-Mart is kinda the Mecca of shoplifting; it’s turbo-corporate oligarch despotism so nobody feels guilty about shoplifting from them, they’re usually located central to low income areas, and everyone assumes they don’t have the budget to have a robust loss prevention department (they do; it’s one of the most robust I’ve ever seen).
I don’t endorse not putting your cart back usually… But yeah, this is alright.
I love this and will contribute to it going forward.
I always park in the “Online Pickup” or “Coffee Customer” or “Uber Eats” spots.
Fuck you. I’m spending money at your store.
I remember one parking lot had a parking lot Nazi. When I parked in one of the Uber Eats spots he came up and said "I don’t see any sticker indicating you work for one of the pickup apps. I said I didn’t. He said I had to move. I said “Let’s see if you can get a tow truck here before I get back out and leave” and walked inside. Got in and out quick and left. No tow truck in sight.
So you’re being rude and anti-social because “i’M a PaYiNg CuStOmEr”? You do realize that is basic Karen behavior right?
Why would you side with a corporation and call not doing so “anti-social”?
I’m a paying customer. Why should some other paying customer have priority over me? The fact that I’m not doing a quick pickup means I’m probably spending MORE on their products.
It’s not like I’m parking in a handicap spot. It’s a spot the corporation is trying to prioritize for other customers who DON’T have handicaps.
Are you really asking me to explain to you the concept of a loading zone?
What the fuck does a loading zone have to do with priority parking spots for quick pickups? Those are two different things. Are you even posting in the right thread?
A loading zone is NOT what I’m talking about. Maybe you live in a rural area that doesn’t have the spots I’m talking about, so you just assume I’m talking about loading zones.
…and everyone clapped, right?
Larp on reddit.
Is everything that bothers you LARPing?
Is it that hard to wrap your smooth brain around a pretty believable scenario? I’m sure a lot of people have done what I did to parking Nazis. You just don’t go outside, so you wouldn’t know.
Not that I give a fuck whether some kid living in their parent’s house believes me, but it definitely happened. Maybe you’re just such a subservient pussy who can’t fathom standing up to someone.
You just have to be an asshole?
Yes, but only towards other assholes (:
The Walton family is certainly one of humanity’s greatest enemies.
Yup. Them and the Murdoch family. Cancers on our civilization and enemies to the inhabitants of Earth.
And clearly we can add the Trump family to the list as well.
Rupert Murdoch is so old that his fucking dad (not grandfather or great-grandfather) orchestrated a successful smear campaign against Australia’s best general during WWI, over a century ago. Reason: the general was Jewish.
You could actually list every billionaire in the world. It’s simply impossible to become that absurdly rich without getting involved in these schemes. They all know each other and would never allow anyone who was even remotely decent to rise to their level.
I used to counter this argument with Paul McCartney, but it turns out he’s been something of a cunt his whole life as well.
Wealthiest family in the world funded entirely by underpaying it’s workers.
Absolutely, and they are undoubtedly one of the key players responsible for the global resurgence of fascism—for example, in the form of the current U.S. regime, but at the same time also in other countries, first and foremost Israel, but also in Europe, and in every remaining democracy. Their unlimited resources make this possible, and they want more and more.
As I said: These are humanity’s worst enemies.
If you’re a police officer or military veteran and you need a special parking spot it’s because your handicapped.
Otherwise you can fucking walk like everyone else.
You’re not special. Special people aren’t regularly put in dangerous situations for relatively low pay.
The point is parking close to rapidly respond to calls for service.
At least that’s my interpretation, anyway. I never considered people might want to park there off-duty just to shop.
Top 10 most dangerous jobs in the U.S. according to Forbes:
- Logging Workers
- Fishing and Hunting Workers
- Roofers
- Aircraft Pilots and Flight Engineers
- Structural Iron and Steel Workers
- Delivery and Truck Drivers
- Refuse and Recyclable Material Collectors
- Underground Mining Machine Operators
- Construction Trade Workers
- Electrical Power-line Installers and Repairers
I’m know I’m preaching to the choir here, but it’s good info to be familiar with when some knuckle dragging MAGA hat pretends to be patriotic.
Notice that law enforcement overseers and military are not on this list. Moreover, LEOs often get paid MUCH better than many of the people employed at some of the jobs listed above. It’s also a pretty safe bet these days that if an American police officer is in a dangerous situation, they are the danger. I’m all for respecting people that choose dangerous careers, but police and veterans are not heros for making that choice any more than any of the others on this list.
OSHA has a similar list, no police either.
USA Today has a top 25 list, still no police.
Also notice that,
Damn, I don’t want to be my handicapped.
That sign does not look bolted down. 3 youths with a skateboard could recreate Iwo Jima and move it somewhere less convenient like at the bottom of a lake or wherever cops like to park and hide to print speeding tickets.

The people who went all-in a few years ago on shaming others for not returning their carts to the cart corral will have a problem with this.
I will make an exception for this.
Nah. As far as I’m concerned that IS a cart corral.
I’d pull out my libertarian hat out and tell people that the market decided this is the most efficient location for the cart corral. Instructing customers to do otherwise is big government and communist.
/s
No I won’t.
Seriously though if you aren’t putting your cart in this specific spot or the corral, what is wrong with you? It’s not that much further to walk. Don’t make more work for the person who brings the carts back inside, it’s just inconsiderate. Plus those things have been known to pick up speed in the wind and smash into stuff. You might not give a shit about your own car, but some people do.
Just be considerate, life is better when we work together.
It’s the reason anarchy can’t work.
People aren’t capable of self governance.
I’ve got sciatica in one of my legs. Not bad enough to justify a handicap spot (although those never have a cart coral near them), but bad enough that some days it is, actually, very painful to walk. Especially the walk back from the coral, where I don’t have the cart to lean on.
In fact, I often appreciate when people don’t put a cart away, and I can find a stray cart on the way to the store.
I still put the carts away when I’m done, and usually try to park near the cart coral as a result…with one exception: this fucking Dollar Tree near me, where their carts are all absolute shit to begin with and there’s one cart coral and no parking spots anywhere near it. I park against an embankment under some trees where there is always space and shade.
Usually there’s already a cart there waiting for me. When I’m done, I leave it pushed up against the embankment, back wheels on pavement, front wheels on grass, so it can’t roll back into the lot, and right in between the parking spots so it is easy to retrieve by the next customer.
as an avid despiser of assholes who don’t return their carts and leave them right in the fucking way, I grant you a pass because of how you’re doing it and what you do to avoid the situation in the first place
also the dollar tree sounds like it simply has a bad design and they should fix that
Its a slippery slope, once they get you putting them in a corral then they will expect you to take it back to the building. At least Aldi tricks people into returning the cart or you pay.
Its job security to the cart grabbers. Make their job easy and once they collect the carts they get hours cut. Make it difficult and they can keep working all day.
I’ve gotten into the habit at my grocery store of taking a cart from the corral into the store rather than walking in and then taking one from inside the building. It’s functionally no effort for me and its one less time a store employee has to walk that cart back into the building. The people who work at that grocery store are my neighbors and townsfolk, every cart I bring back in on my way is an opportunity for them to stand around on the company dime.
“It’s a slippery slope to stop pissing in the parking lot. Once they get you pissing in the toilet, then they will expect you to just hold it in.”
It’s not a slippery slope; you’re just pretending it is because you’re a lazy, selfish, obnoxious chud, and pretending it’s because you care about the people who clean up your mess is insulting to them and the people reading this. I hope you also throw your trash on the floor because that helps them hire more janitors, you little slob.
Not quite. Stores typically do flex scheduling instead of a steady 9-5, and will only allocate enough employees to meet basic demand, and are cycled between stations.
There’s never enough hands for someone to be just a cart grabber. Once you’re done with that task, it’s back inside because that weird robot thingy saw a sticker and is calling for a cleanup.Dumbest take. They put the corrals out there because they expect lazy people.
Whatever helps you sleep at night
This is another cart corral.
nope not at all
Cart Narcs know they’d be out of their jurisdiction there.
It’s just a new cart corral, no big deal
That is a cart corral, looks fine to me.
When it’s so a corporation saves money: “The wind! The wind will blow the cart into cars! Wiiiiiiiiiiiind!”
I don’t know if/how you’ve never seen wind catch a shopping cart, but it can hurtle those fucking things. Mercifully the hurtling tends to be worst with the plastic ones because there’s more surface area, but I’ve seen one of those smack a car head-on at like 25 kph on flat terrain on a breezy day.
You can go look up videos of even pretty modest winds gently pushing metal shopping carts around; they look like they’re possessed.
Even on flat lots on windless days, you’re not sticking it to the man; you’re just being a jackass making someone’s already insufferable retail job even less sufferable over 10 seconds of returning a cart.
“The store just puts those trash cans there to save money on cleanup and liability.” Yeah, no shit.
Here’s the thing. I am aware that wind exists. I’ve seen wind. I’ve even seen it push shopping carts like you describe.
This isn’t a problem in every parking lot, particularly underground ones. And it’s still just as much of a problem with these pictured carts.
So people aren’t really upset about the wind.
Nah. This is the least that the bastards deserve.
Hell yeah
