I thought it might be making fun of the shape of a prefecture or lake or something, but this guy’s Twitter feed is mostly cartoons of people with giant square bodies and tiny heads, and this kind of fits with that theme by itself.

This would be hilarious if it just popped up in the middle of a show for no reason. They’re buying bread, and all the bags have these huge clips, no one says anything, they put the bread in the cart, scan it, take it home and put it in the pantry next to other bread with big clips, and the show continues as if nothing happened.

Then in the series finale, they mention it.

“You, know, it’s just weird, like the big clips on the bread.”

    “Right.”

I’m envisioning it as a running gag for the show. 5 episodes in, it’s shown that the clip is taken out to the garage for disposal where they have a huge stack of clips from previously bought bread. 2 seasons in, it’s shown in the background that a separate garbage collection vehicle runs up to the driveway and a specially built clip hauler is used to pick up the clips. Another season in, a bread bag clip recycling station is passed while the main characters are driving somewhere. Etc.

Have at least one instance where one gets in the way of two characters having a conversation while trying to see each other around it.

I was only able to recognize it was one of those bread clips when you said it. Looked like some huge blob holding a bag of bread and I was not able to recognize it.
